Inaccurate Build Sheets

I am trying to find a used ftype and my local dealer has been nice enough to print the original build sheets for two cars so that I can check what equipment/options it has. Unfortunately it's not helpful at all because both build sheets don't match up with what is on the actual vehicle. Did the original owners have their car modified after they ordered? Is Jaguar's record keeping just trash? Whats going on? I even ordered the window sticker online for one and that was wrong too. Any ideas?

I can't really comment on your cars, but the build sheet for my 2018 XE is spot on. Jaguar is an extremely pedantic company when it comes to processes and systems and I'd be surprised if their "record keeping is trash..." it's certainly possible that both build sheets are incorrect, but the most likely explanation is the cars were modified after sale.
You've posted exactly zero information on the discrepancies so nobody can do anything more than wildly speculate..

The list of options on my 2018 R Dynamic as listed in Topix (back when you could get that list for free) is not accurate. I am not sure if that is considered the build sheet. One thing off the top of my head that I recall being incorrect are the paddle shifters. They are listed as silver but are in fact red. I bought the car new.

Here are a few ideas on getting the list of options ordered. User Ftyperegistry on this forum looks up info on cars. I am not sure where he gets his info but he may be able to help. Also try posting to the UK forum. Someone on there may be able to help. Good luck.

The one I'm looking at now has the exterior carbon fiber pack but the build sheet says exterior pack - Less and all the trim is body colored. The window sticker I found shows no carbon fiber pack added. I looked at a 2019 and it said it had the carbon fiber wing and no android auto. I went to look at it and it had android auto and the wing was deleted. These are all very expensive options to add after the fact and wouldn't really make much sense. They were both cars owned by rich old guys who barely drove them and I'd be surprised if they were making these changes.
These hardly sound like massive issues, just part of the fun of figuring out the history of a used car 😂
