Default Incentives on nearly two-year old never-titleds?

I came across a new '16 that fits what I would be looking for. I have confirmed that it has never been put into service, so I don't have any lost warranty time. Given that the '18 order banks are in place, any good ideas on what incentives might be out there that don't show on the Jaguar website? After all, I am sure they really don't want to still have a '16 sitting around as the '18 orders are being placed...

Also, given that it is a 2016, any idea where I should be on residual and money factor if I go the lease route?

30% percent off MSRP is what i would be shooting for.

Salespeople try to pretend that such car is new. Well, it is new, but the moment you drive it off the lot it becomes two year old one with ultra-low miles. It should be valued as such.

Also, get them to change engine oil as part of the deal. If it sat for 2+ years it is overdue on change.

I agree with Shaun. 20% off and then 5% for each of the two past model years. So 30%.

Current claim is that Chase won't write leases on a 2016 even though it is 'new' on the lot and never placed into service. The dealership doesn't like doing business with US Bank (who apparently WOULD write a lease on a 2016). And the 'most aggressive' number on a cash deal was going to be $72K (V6 S that stickers around $91K).

So...it appears that the search continues...

A lot of "inhouse" finance outfits will only lease on current and sometimes previous model year

Which SHOULD put a 2016 in their wheelhouse since it is still 'previous model year' for at least another month or two (at a minimum). 2018 orders might be getting entered but I doubt contracts are being financed on them yet...

Sounds like this dealer doesn't want to deal and that's why it's still on the lot two years later. Move on to a better dealer.

Easier said than done...it isn't like there are a ton of manual coupes out there. If I wanted a slushbox, then choice abounds. Some of us still prefer to row our own gears and know what the third pedal is for...

i hear ya. I wanted a manual as well, but after reading about all the clutch issues I changed my mind.

You may want to see if the warranty clock has started to tick as it may be a new car but it probably been punched. These cars were known as ghosts. If I remember correctly the clock starts after a year in dealer stock.

2016 will have bad Gen1 clutch that will require replacing right out of the gates. While this problem is resolved under warranty, this is another reason to haggle 16 MT down.

Starts with the in-service date, and confirmed this morning (before the post was made) that it was never placed into service. It does have a few outstanding service actions, but those would be expected to be taken care of prior to drive-off...

In one of the other threads, it was suggested that So far we know that they are bad through at least 27733 but were fixed by 28678.

The one that is the subject of this thread has a 30xxx VIN. So, does that put it in the 'safe' range?

And, if not, then how exactly does one tactfully and without admitting to potential abuse of a wear item get said wear item replaced under warranty? Seriously.

I've seen some ads for unsold 2016 F Types out there.... which amazes me, since it is a wonderful vehicle, and that they sit without much urgency to move them. I guess chooses to minimize discounts rather than dilute the brand with high incentives.

A few months ago I had an opportunity for a 2016 ATS-V 6 speed with 900 miles on the odo... $78k list, selling for $46k. Opposite approach, eh?

I agree. One of the dealers in my area has a 2016 MT that's been on their lot since my wife and I first went to get information on the F-Pace (some 15 months ago). I went over and even took a test drive, but they weren't realistic in their pricing - on either the 2016, or the trade-in on my 2014. They started out wanting $40k for the swap.

No, not that one. Although that one is a touch younger...

While the pricing is similar, cannot bring myself to like the red interior. Unlike the 1800S I learned to drive stick with many moons ago, there is just too much surface area in the interior...personal preference.
