Has anyone had this issue? Today my car was showing 39%, so i went to fill up, however it only filled 4 gallons. tried to pump more in thinking I was having issues filling up again, however this time the gas slightly over flowed.
When I got back into my car, the fuel indicator still showed 39%, even though i know physically that the tank is topped off.

Haven't had this issue in the Jags I've owned but in a Nissan Altima the sensor in the tank would occasionally get stuck and read as empty. Usually shutting off the car and starting the engine a second time would fix it. I never had it looked at because the car was about to be turned in at end of lease.

Hey Twizt,
I went through this. (post here)
It turned out that the fuel sender on my car was faulty, which meant that the entire fuel tank needed to be replaced. Brought my car into a dealer where it basically sat for over a month because the part is not readily available. My suggestion is to have it diagnosed and then bring back the car only when they have the part ready. PM me and I can provide further details if you need.
