I've spend some time searching out for this info but have been unable to find any definitive information and am sorry if i've started a thread where it was readily available. I know how much repetitive threads can be annoying but i did try . My Brother in law is a new owner of a beautiful Convertible with the S package and 20 " wheels.. He is looking to try and fill the wheel well a little better and we were wondering of going up perhaps 5 points or if possible 10 would cause negative issues with regards to the computer or create other problems other than actual rubbing ? The goal is a more narrow wheel well open area, slightly higher ground clearance and perhaps even a better ride . Lowering springs are out of the question due to the roads in his area and some drive way issues . Its OK where it sits now but a little bit higher would not be a bad thing. Thank you for your time and again i apologize if the answer is obvious and I was unable to find it .

If you don't lower the car then 10 mm wider and (slightly) taller tyres will not be a problem, ie going from stock 295/30ZR20 to 305/30ZR20 on the rear and stock 255/35ZR20 to 265/35ZR20 on the front. These are in fact the OEM sizes for the current model F-Type R and the old SVR.
But that change will make very little difference to ride height and wheel well gap as it's only around 1/10 of an inch increase in sidewall height.
A better solution may be to do as I and many others have done - fit wheel spacers (although I have lowered mine a little as well).
I have 20 mm spacers on the rear and 15 mm on the front and the stance is damn near perfect IMHO.
The stock set up has the wheels/tyres sitting way too far "tucked in" for my liking and the spacers bring them out just right.
They won't change the ride height or the wheel well gap but they will make a big difference to the appearance, for not many $.
Thank you for the reply. I had not taken into consideration what spaces would do with regards to changing the appearance of the wheel gap. That certainly gives us something else to think about and I appreciate the thought of going with a slightly wider tire even though it will not too much as far as the height of the tire. It's good to know that those would probably fit as the car is at stock height. Thanks for these thoughts.
I have this setup on mine, the arches are quite filled out (the rear could possible come out another 10mm or so), looks fantastic (well so I think). I didnt lower it coz I was worried about it scraping.
Front: 21x9 +32 (265/30R21 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S)
Rear: 21x10.5 +25 (305/25R21 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S)

That looks very good . Do you know if your tire diameter has changed much from stock and if so by how much ? Have you noticed any change in any the suspension , ABS or traction control ? Thanks !
As far as I am aware the overall height is the same, I did check that recently when the question came up on another thread. But it is hard to be precise with the curve on the wheel, might be 5mm out.
The tyres were changed at the same time as the rims which are forged, but compared to OEM 19's with P Zeros, the ride on normal roads is improved, but the ride on really bad roads is more jittery especially in dynamic. Handling is vastly improved, like it is the best thing I've done to the car. I'd fancy my chances on a tight track against a Cayman (might be living in dreamland, let me have my fantasies). Braking is the same as it was before, this mod is all improvement, no downside. I've had those tyres on for about 25000km/4.5 years now, they need replacing within a few thousand km as I had a touch of front end sideways movement coming out of a roundabout, which was sphincter tightening. I'd get the same again (supersports which I got because they are a touch fatter, gives better rim protection), though I like the look of semi slicks.
Excellent report and I was just gong to ask you about the wheels as that is exactly the look he is going for. I priced those tires out at Tire Rack and they came out to $2001 delivered. for fun i priced the same tire but in the original 19 inch specification and they were $1627 . What a difference an inch makes I'm all about cornering this is my personal canyon carver / track toy .

The spacers certainly add to the appearance. But.....Does having more of the tire outside of the wheel well increase the amount of stone chips that will pepper the side of the car ?
We have discussed splash guards in another thread and there doesn't seem to be an easy, ready to install & properly designed solution.
Certainly something to think about . As I am not near the car in question does the stock wheel position already reach the edge of coverage provided by the fender or is there still room to move out a bit ?
