Installation of Umbrella holder

Which bit are you unsure about ? Panel removal or attaching the brackets?
also do you have a coupe or convertible?
ultimately install is just drilling some holes through the appropriate panel and riveting the bracket through a washer on the back to give the rivet something to splay out against. Also you can just eyeball the width and distance from the edge of the panel if you can’t be bothered using the template guide and it will still be perfect.

You can also choose a different installation location rather than the front lip so won’t impact on the load opening so much. Eg deeper in on the roof of the boot panel. You won’t see it on opening the boot and you will have to reach in deeper but still completely functional.

agree random drilling is crazy but formal instructions actually require removal of the panel from the car to access the back of the panel. Panel is just compressed /glued carpet like material so actually easy to drill through and any drill holes are actually invisible later if you change your mind. I actually cut some slots through the side panel in my boot and added elastic straps to hold first aid kit and the tyre inflator as had no room in the underfloor area and it looks exactly like the oem elastic straps in the boot already . You could add anything really such as extinguisher holder , extra tie down spots easily if needed and yes it does require removal of the relevant panel. Or there are plenty of Velcro attached nets now too.

I wondered what the two elastic straps at the forward edge of the trunk floor were for and the additional one on the left hand side. I bought one of those cargo nets for about $20 that can be attached to the two hooks on either side of the trunk area to carry loose objects if needed and keep a pair of bungee cords in the storage area under the floor. For an emergency kit, I bought a .30 caliber plastic ammo can from Harbor Freight and a couple of these emergency flashers to put inside along with a small spray bottle of quick detailer and another one with some glass cleaner plus a microfiber towel and a multi tool. The ammo can sits perfectly inside the storage hole and still allows the cover to fit on top. I'll probably add a small tool kit that will fit in the storage space as well.
