It was standard on my R and I've been so busy I only had it out once in the evening since I got the car 3 weeks ago, (not properly dark until at least 10:30 around here), yet they did seem to work fine.
I made the mistake of clicking the high beam off or on (can't remember now which) and this defeated the system just before we got home.. anyway, the manual gives a decent explanation of how they work.
Likely someone else has had more experience with this feature.
Lawrence.

I have and it seems to work great. Only a few places on my normal drives where it is dark enough to engage them however when they do it brightens the roadway very nicely. When someone comes at you in the opposite direction it recognizes their illumination and switches back to normal low lighting.

The only situation I have found so far where I disengaged the system and forced it back to low lightening was where another car was at an intersection perpendicular to me waiting for me to get past them so they could turn on the street I was on. I am sure they would not appreciate my bright lights shining at them until I passed.

Overall seems a pretty smart and effective system.

One of the better systems out there. Had one on a 2013 Mercedes and it did not work well. The system on my F-Type is as good as I would be manually.

I have seen it turn off twice since I've owned the car... I use the manual adjuster almost exclusively. The times it did work, I thought I had just won the Jaguar lottery... The turning lights are a nice feature, so are the side lamps that turn on when you turn... plus it has the rear camera which to me, is a necessity.
