Interesting find - possible first Manual F-Type produced for the US?
At times I randomly check the listings of F-Types for sale and just came across this very low VIN number manual car. It caught my attention since the lowest VIN manual I had previously seen were:
SAJWA6AT5G8K26695 - Glacier White
SAJWB6E61G8K27716 - British Racing Green
Listed below is SAJWB6BC7G8K20764 - Sapphire Blue. I confirmed in Topix and indeed it is a valid VIN with a build date of 12/14
Here is the link. I also confirmed via Topix

1. That is exactly what I thought as well when I first saw the listing. That’s what caught my attention. 100% confirmed it is manual as Topix, other sources and pics confirm it.
2. Don’t think it is a Pre-Production test car as those don’t have valid VINs to register. Not impossible but very unlikely that one of those would be let into the wild. Car fax shows that it was first registered with around 1600 miles and usually press cars rack a lot more mileage than that during their media circuit runs. Maybe it was a dealer demo.
To sum it up I guess this is proof that manual US VINs started in the 20xxx and not the mid 25xxd as I previously thought. As more and more hit the resell market I’m sure early model year manuals will pop up.

During the years of production (16-19) they accounted for about 7% of F-Type sales. In total, less than 1000 were ever built for the US.

My VIN ends K20866, I am pretty sure that my car is a manual. I know because I've had to replace the clutch, thankfully only once. Interestingly my car started life destined for the British market and converted mid build for the US (discovered when sorting an anomolous working harness)

You could be right. I was the first registered owner but the car had 1200 miles on it and the dealership suggested it had been put through it's paces. I didn't mind as got a great price and the car was built to be driven.
May be old for an American manual F type but still runs and looks great, even compared to other cool red cars (personally I like the Italian racing red better)

You have an exceptionally good looking vehicle. My F-Type has a four digit serial number and a 10/13 build date. I think it looks like what the car was meant to be. Folks ask about values. I firmly believe that the first and the last of a model are the most valuable. But I really don't care about value. I like what it looks like and that it expresses what I want to drive.
