Interior Junction of Windshield & Dashboard: A Precaution
Last weekend I parked my F Type in a paid parking lot. As I usually do, I went to wedge the receipt between the lower inside of the windshield where it meets the dashboard so it is visible from the outside.
The receipt dropped down into the space in front of the dashboard and behind the bottom of the windshield and disappeared !
When I got home I took a piece of thin cardboard and ran a strip of packing tape along the edge so that a bit of the adhesive was exposed and then stuck it down between the windshield and dash and wiggled it around until the parking receipt stuck to it and then was able to extract it. Measuring the space showed a depth of about 4" before the cardboard hit bottom and any thin object like a credit card or parking pass could drop in there and not be seen.
So be very careful with anything that you might normally put near the intersection of the glass and dashboard like a parking pass as there is a gap there that will swallow it !

My car park ticket is still where it slid, just covering part of the VIN number that's visible through the windscreen! I keep meaning to work out how to remove it, but your packing-tape method sounds like just the, er, ticket!
I've now got into the habit of putting the ticket on top of the cluster binnacle, mostly so that I don't try and drive off with it somewhere on the dashboard and see it disappear again the first time I brake!
