I've got to assume something of this nature is not able to work retroactively? I don't like jewelry, even if functional.
That being said, this is pretty cool and I probably would wear it! =) Make it open my door too, and it's a deal. Or implant it.
It is just a key fob in a smaller case with a band attached.
Wow! Either that's a child's wrist or Jaguar key fobs have gotten huge since my XF. I can't remember now which kind of car it was, but I was new car shopping some years ago and when I saw the veritable TV remote control of a key fob the salesman brought out for a test drive, I said "I'm done here. No way I'm carrying something that size around in my pocket." Maybe that's why they put a wrist strap on it? I often wish I could just go back to tiny metal keys. It's not that inconvenient to stick it in a slot and turn it.

I actually like analog buttons, anyway. Enough with the touchscreens! But this is like something I would really 3D print something for. More functional than a watch. LOL
I have a 2016 and was able to connect the incontrol app. The incontrol app allows me to lock my doors, remotely start my car and view various statuses from my iPhone and Apple Watch. IMHO, one of the coolest non-essential features of this car.

I just bought my first whiz bang type car, though not a Jag. It's a 2017 Ford Flex. Proximity key w/remote start, phone inter connectivity and what not. Keyless entry was okay, but I never minded using my metal keys, at least when the manufacturers used to put a key lock on both right and left doors. You could wear the key around your neck, on a band around your wrist of on a ring on your pants. Now I have to carry something the size of my old burner flip phone!
Connected car means that anyone could connect to it and you are counting on automotive (mechanical) engineers to design and maintain an information security system.
Would you allow car mechanic do your dental work? It is like that. With potentially disastrous consequences.
I'm pretty sure they hired actual experts to build the system. Doubtful they would throw a mechanic from the shop onto a laptop and tell him to write the code for their incontrol app.
I think the probability of something disastrous happening is pretty slim and the functionality outweighs the risk. Worst case scenario, my insurance gets me a new car.
All fun and games until you forget to charge it I would think - fob as back up, or is this just an option you can purchase? I prefer old school analog watches or automatics myself, never got into the whole smartwatch fad - it's like you're simply renting the watch with another model coming out in a year.
Someone had a car brand specific microchipped wristwatch that functioned like a passive key fob a few years back. Breitling - Bentley or such maybe?
