Interesting to see that Jag peaks correspond generally with Porsche troughs.

Porsche has to clean up its act. Turbo 4cyl cars? Everything is optional? Artificial waiting lists to foster exclusivity? Thanks, but no thanks.

Isn't the man who designs Porsches quite old by now? After all he has been penning the same design for, what, the last 45 years or more?

Ferdinand Porsche, grandson of the founder, retired in 2005 and died in 2012.

I agree; I really wanted to buy a Porsche but the ridiculously priced " a la carte" options and the snobby dealers charging in excess of MSRP turned me off completely......good thing as I paid less for a car that offers much more than a Porsche at the same price point.

In every market, "engineering exclusivity" is the new thing to create loyalty. It's garbage.

But F-Type has a 4cyl now. "Avoid single mufflers". I kid I kid, I shall foster an atmosphere of exclusivity.

OOPS SPOONERISM. I meant to say inclusivity.

I visited a Porsche dealer recently. Took a friend out there to pick up his car.

One otherwise beautiful 911 had the most hideous decal kit from the factory I've ever seen. The price for the ugly stickers - $12k!

I was thinking what if JLR put an ugly sticker kit on an F-Type and tried to sell it for a $5k option cost. It would sit FOREVER.

Could have been an older model. Not sure what other P car is going to run an expensive "decal kit" from the factory.

In Portland I've only seen two other F-Types in over a year. There was only one little dealer here, but now the Land Rover dealer is expanding into a large Jag/LR facility.

Yes I believe it was a GT3rs. Giant letters spelling out Porsche going different directions. Off-white and Yellow decals over bright white - hideous.

Funny - I owned a '74 911 w/ letters on/under the doors and that bugged me (circa early 90s). But this was just awful.

Super expensive/fancy dealership in Beaverton - I guess someone has to pay for all that real estate.

I was at an Costco parked next to a very nice 911 and people were checking out my F-type and ignoring the 911. I love most 911s and it was beautiful no doubt, but people see one every hour.

I'm guessing it was the Endurance Racing Edition 911 on their website...

Oh yes - that is it! But I believe it was yellow/off white. That doesn't look as bad but still is horrible.

$12k! The salesman pointed out that it included the blacked out mirrors. I was like 'oh, that explains it then ....'

Those decals scream "I know you've seen thousands of these on the road, please look at me!'.

Like I said, I love all nice cars and to each their own. If that was $1200 and it was someone's thing - maybe. But $12k LOL - I mean damn.

A friend of mine bought a Dodge Hellcat and got that gigantic decal job of the logo on the side w/ the cat head. I chastised him about it. He said what I expected. He didn't want the car to be confused with the $24k basic Challenger.

Otherwise very nice car for what it is and tons of fun but made to look like trailer trash.

On my R maybe a giant decal that says 550 HP Model 2nd from the Top HAHAHA

Back on topic....

F-Type, XE (particularly the S), and now the F-Pace. Jaguar is on a roll, and the recognition is well deserved. Ian Callum is a genius.

Yes he is - and I've noticed fewer and fewer Jaguars are awful/unreliable comments over time.
