Default Jaguar Driving Academy - Las Vegas - Feb 18-19

Anyone else going to the Las Vegas event? I'm signed up for the afternoon level 1 course on the 18th. I'll hopefully make it in time for the reception the night before. Would be cool to say hi to some forum members.

Cool, looking forward to it. Nice perk to give when buying the R.

Lynx you're going to love it. Take note of the differences with the 2016 AWD versus yours. Don't be afraid to drive it like you stole it!

I'll be there on the 18th for the afternoon session as well. I wont be attending the reception though, flying in on 18th morning and flying out later that night - just in for the track event and make a few million bucks on my way out!

My wife and I were in Vegas last Christmas - hence the "disciplined" trip.

Lets catch up during the event.

That's great Rav, will definitely say hi. I'm also hoping that Vegas hands out a few million on the way out. That is a thing right?

@LynxFX and rav1up...

I'll be in Las Vegas as well for the Feb. 18th Level 1 afternoon course. I am driving up from San Diego and staying at MGM, but taking the event shuttle to the track from Cosmopolitan. I'll try and make the reception on the 17th.

The reception was nice. The instructors have allot of professional track experience. I was quite impressed by their merits... F1, Daytona 500, 24 hours of Le'mons, Baja 500, etc.

Are the locations only at NOLA or Vegas? Any locations in the North East?
I would love to participate

They appear to change locations yearly. I WISH they would have held one in Austin this year... Circuit if Americas is an awesome facility!

The level 1 event was a blast. Plenty of driving crammed in for such a short half day. The road course they had for us was pretty decent. You could easily hit 115mph on the straights. The instructors were very nice and supportive. Made everything feel so easy and not stressful at all. I actually remembered getting instruction from Roberto Guerrero about 5 years ago at a Drive Alive event, so it was fun getting some more auto cross time with him again.

The most interesting part was probably the fact that we were next to Nellis Air Force Base which had a slew of fighters doing maneuvers and touch and go landings all day long. So it was quite the sight going down the front straight and seeing a pair of F16's(?) flying by. Kinda distracting really. hah!

I'll get some pics posted. Great meeting those from the forum! Hope to get in some drives with a couple.

Can't wait to see the pics. It sounded awesome, especially with the fighters!

Was that on the infield road course of the big track or the road course that's outside (and standalone) of the big track?

We did the outside road course. I think we had the 1.8 mile configuration of he 2.4 mile course. There was an area of he nearby parking lot where we did auto-cross and another area where we did an oval to practice accelerating and turning in. I was in the advanced group on the track and we hit around 120MPH. The instructors were great and I had allot fun. I just wish we were allowed to use our goPros in the car. I brought a helmet strap-mount, but I wasn't allowed to use it. We did get a link to the video from the autocross from the built-in cam in the car for our run.
