I do wonder what it would cost to run one of these... Though seems like all the spares would come in handy, ha ha!

The AM certainly has a much better looking engine compartment.

But that engine was a dog with no bottom end at all. Things got better with the 4.7, but it was still not competitive in the segment. I had an ‘07 with the 4.3 and had it supercharged with a centrifugal supercharger. That gave it great top end, and it was very quick once it got over 4000 rpm, but it was still terrible off the line. I once got beaten to a merge point by a Nissan Versa.

They sold at auction yesterday for Ł213,750 GBP. woukd be nice to see them back on the track in the British GT series.

Used GT race cars can usually be purchased for much cheaper than their street legal counterparts.

This is because used GT race cars are usually come in two conditions: a) decades old and hopelessly outclassed by modern tech b) one hot lap away from the wheels falling off. The owner knows it is too sketchy to keep driving and looking to offload it.

Full race cars are typically not street legal in most countries. Because of that, the market place for them is much smaller which equates to much higher loss of initial investment (i.e. lower re-sale numbers).
