Default Jaguar Mechanic Add-on question

Hi all!!

I took my 2017 Jaguar F-Type R (30K miles, 5.0l V8, AWD) into the good local European car mechanic for an oil change. Just got the report back and they are offering me some of these additional services and I wanted to get the forums opinion on them. I figure I am at the 30K mile mark some of these may be warranted, but don’t really want to spend money unnecessarily ( says the guy that bought a jag lol).

I appreciate any help or guidance and FWIW, I was thinking about doing the coolant flush and fuel induction, but happy to be swayed one way or the other.

If the brake fluid has never been changed then that's definitely overdue (~every 3 years) and that's not a bad price if you can't do it yourself.

Yes on the brake flush. No on the other two. Coolant should be good for another 3 years. Put in a can of BG 44k Platinum fuel system cleaner for good measure.

I find it interesting that they are suggesting changing the front differential fluid but not the rear. I don't have a front diff so can't speak to that part but it wouldn't hurt to change the rear diff fluid, just be sure they use a fluid that meets specs. There's not a lot of fluid in there and it can get worked pretty hard.

Brake flush and instead of the front diff have them replace the rear diff fluid. If you can’t find the appropriate BOT fluid, Ravenol has one that meets the BOT spec. I think I would bring in my on rear diff fluid just to be sure… but that is just me.

The schedule for my MY18 is rear diff every 4 years, front diff every 9 years and transfer box every 3 years.

This is awesome advice everyone, thank you so much for the input! The reason rear diff isn’t showing up is I already had that done a few months ago. I ended up oil change, coolant flush and brake fluid change!

thank y’all so much for the help, y’all rock!!
