Default JLRNA extends O2 sensor warranty up to 15 years / 150K miles for 2014-2017 models

Posting this since I haven't seen it mentioned before. I received an email from Jaguar Land Rover North America stating that they've extended the O2 sensor warranty on 2014-2017 F-Types to 15 years or 150K miles for 3.0L models and 10 years / 120K miles for 5.0L models. Furthermore, they will reimburse people who paid to replace them in the past. Not sure if this applies to only the US or the US and Canada:

Good info - thanx!
Related topic - I recently bought a pre-owned Jag. Is there a way to "register" with JLR so I get info on recalls, updates, etc?

Does that mean the O2 sensors from MY18 are not prone to failure?

This showed up on a PPI I had done this past Monday on my 2014 V8 S. Jag dealer said they did the H231 02 Sensor recall software update.

I thought that a revised part number was to be used when replacing the sensors on older cars, supposedly an improved part?

Will look for the posts I saw later (unless someone else finds them first).

If you take your car in for service at any dealer they will input your VIN into the system and Boom you are in. If nothing else you could ask for the latest ECU, TCU software to be flashed to your car. It cost me 200 bucks and got my name into the JLR database.

I have a repair receipt from the previous owner, for O2 sensors. Anybody know if I can be reimbursed, or would the P.O. get the money? (I'm sure he would buy us a bottle of wine if he gets the cash, we are still friends.)

I’m getting cynical in my older age about the small print...kudos to JLR if they are on the level...

I also got this email today. I’m not an expert here but a word of caution.

pretty sure this update will tone down the exhaust note on your f type. Pops and bangs may go away.

not letting JAG touch it for now

What update? They're just replacing faulty O2 sensors or reimbursing anyone who's already done so ....

I too received an email for Canadian cars.

Perfect timing as I have an O2 sensor that just went bad on my 15 XJ

I got two emails, This also applies to Land Rover. I just replaced one on the F-type, so I’ll report back if they honor my receipt I have for $72

It does say, "or O2 sensor operating software . . . " and "or caused by sensor operating software" Which suggests they may go in through the ECU too.

If that's the case and the software is updated from MY18 then I can say mine is noisy as hell, so spreading rumours of it stopping pops and crackles is misguided. Other updates may affect the noise, but I doubt this is one of them. And if replacement sensors work with existing software (as evidenced by those who've replaced them themselves and will be reimbursed) it seems no update is necessary.

Not misguided...there are indeed some of us who have had a flash done (without prior notice) and that drastically neutered the exhaust...

Agreed, but was it the one for the O2 sensors?

As I recall, it was related to them...it was something done when it was in for the original clutch replacement...I forgot the campaign number, but it definitely changed the exhaust and not in a good way.
