JTB00432v4 Dealer says "Adjustment" not warranty!???

I took my car to the dealer to address a few issues Ive been having with my car, one of which is a nasty rattle caused by the speakers/housing vibrating. I informed them of the tsb and they said they would look into it. Today I get a text from my service adviser saying the following:
"The bulletin you mentioned for the speakers/housing does not pertain to your vin. I will not be able to perform that under warranty. If you still want the work performed, the cost would be $664...."
I replied with the following:
"...my vehicle is under warranty and the speakers/housing have an issue. It doesn't need to be fixed with the bulletin that I gave you, but, please fix it with whatever means you deem necessary to fix the problem under the warranty."
The response I received:
"I understand, but the necessary repair is considered an adjustment. Adjustments are only covered for 12 months. The parts needed are pertaining only to the bulletin. I'm stuck."
What do you guys think about this? Im thinking about contacting JLR but I already have an attorney working on my lemon case, and I'm not sure how to proceed. Its not logical that the obnoxious buzzing/rattling would not be covered by warranty... I think Ill call my attorney tomorrow about this, but, just curious if anyone here has come across this ridiculous "Adjustment" rule?
Thanks

I agree with jaguny - at least in the UK the standard warranty would cover the remedy for an issue like that even if it was not being done under a TSB. (Those bulletins are purely instructional, they are not themselves anything to do with the warranty or what is or isn't covered.)
Your dealer likely just doesn't want the work done under warranty because they want to charge you the labour mark-up instead of the fixed cost labour JLR will pay them. They love jobs like this because they are easy, low part cost, and labour intensive.
Push harder, or find a new dealer.

While you cannot flag that repair to that bulleting because it is not in the vin range. That just meens you repair the issue and do not flag to that bulletin. We run into many issue that are the same as a tsb addresses. And when not in the vin range you do not refferance the tsb. Its that simple

Had the issue with my daughter's Volkswagon.
She had a very loud annoying creak/rattle on the dash, around the speaker housing.
One dealer says it's not covered.
Took it to another dealer & now instead of saying it's a rattle noise, we said that the speaker is defective, needs to be replaced.
They removed entire dash, fix problem, & said that it was a loose screw. Problem solved. No more noise.
Just tell them it's a defective part that needs to be repaired, not adjusted, then they have try to fix it...

Thank you all for your posts! I sent a reply to my service adviser letting him know that I understand that the BS line wasn't from him but rather from his supervisor and that I understand that his hands are tied. I then asked for the service managers name and that I would contact JLR to discuss this matter with them. Suffice it to say, they quickly discovered Jesus as SinF put it lol.
