Default Just wanted to say goodbye

Folks,

After careful consideration and deliberation, I decided to sell my F-Type R Coupe. It just wasn't the car for me. The next toy is a Cayman R, which is much less powerful, but about 1,000lbs lighter.

This is a great group. I'll miss the drives and meet-ups!

Will sell the few bits I added soon. Storm Wheels with Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires, Jaguar OE all-weather (rubber) mats, and Jaguar OE aluminum shift paddles.

Have fun with the Cayman R. As much as I like the FTR for the looks, sound and power, it's not a nimble track car. I'm sure you'll have much more fun with the CR for those purposes. I might be interested in the storm wheels, keep us posted.

Have fun with the Porsche! If you're looking for a strong track car, you're making the right move.

I will probably end up with another Porsche at some point in the future, but I'm having too much fun with my F-Type for now.

I didn't even know that Jag has OE all-weather rubber floor mats for the F-Type. I might be interested in those myself.

Scott, would it not be cheaper to get your drive and garage floor reinforced, than to sell the F-Type and buy a lighter car???

Oh. And look at a Cayman GT4 before you hand any money over for the Cayman R...

The problem with the GT4 is probably allocation. I imagine it's tough to get a GT4 allocation and/or you have to pay a significant markup. Frankly, one of the reasons I didn't get a GT3. It would have been pushing my budget, but the real deal breaker was no one had allocation and/or they all wanted crazy markup. I just got tired of dealing with that.

Already got the Cayman R. This should hold me over for a bit.

Good choice, Scott.

Your desire for lightweight is primarily what drove me to the lightest F-Type possible, the base with no options. I looked long and hard at the Cayman R, but I wanted a convertible and really dislike the Boxster's looks. While the Porsches are better performers, I preferred the looks, feel, and sounds of the F-Type convertible, but I continually fantasize about how great it would be if it could shed another 400 lbs.

Ditch the Electric seats, power tailgate, glass roof and overpriced stereo, and you'll be most of the way there.
