So, dealer called today...nothing on the update. Indicated that possibly Jaguar was sending out zip drives to dealers based on sales volume...Hmmm, I guess that means my 20 units/yr dealer will be about last in the pecking order... So StealthPilot, I told him to contact Jaguar Northpoint for info...

I'll give it a day or two before my I let my italian nature loose...

Got the update done today...took about a half hour or so, and works well. Turns out that my dealer had to call Jaguar Northpoint to figure it out, so thank you Stealthpilot!

Only issue is that I allowed this dealer to run the car through the car wash next door, which had a track....scratched my rear rim....annoying. The guy probably jumped it onto the track....They're going to fix it, but still annoying because it's a time killer. I had a sixth sense to refuse the free wash, but I figured they knew what they were doing since they wash all of their cars there....not necessarily dealer's fault...stupid car wash...

Word to the wise...never allow the F-Type to be washed on any car wash with a track....I never do, and this was literally the first time in 18 years that I allowed my car to run through one...was too trusting ...stupid.

Back to JustDrive...I actually like it. I think the nav is simple but easy to follow, and I love thinking of a song and having it just play off of Spotify....

This has so much potential as they keep updating it...good first step for sure.

So, an update.

On Thursday morning, I PM'd JaguarUSA on Facebook asking for a timeline on the distribution of the update and expressing frustration that the problem and the solution were relatively unknown beyond this forum.

They responded within two hours. Ultimately they had the Customer Relationship Center contact me. By mid afternoon, I was talking to them.

After sensing that JustDrive is not a Jaguar app from some "this is us/that is them" comments...the kind that infuriate a consumer...They acknowledged the problem and that distribution of updates commenced on 12/4. I simply asked "how long will it be until MY dealer receives their SD Drive?" Now I'm in the two business day hold time waiting for that answer.

So, JustDrive is not a Jaguar App...it comes from CloudCar who lists Jaguar as a "partner". Well, I'd hope so, since it seems they have one client..."Jaguar/Land Rover". In addition, quotes from Jaguar's press release include:
"Developed by Silicon Valley-based CloudCar, Jaguar Land Rover has optimized justDrive for its InControl™ platform for Apple iOS8 users. "

"Today, we are advancing our InControl system a stage further and to the forefront of the industry with the launch of justDrive."
And CloudCar says:
“As the first to adopt justDrive, Jaguar Land Rover brings customers a thoughtful, connected experience that evolves with the driver and remains current throughout the vehicle’s lifetime.”
So, I will let you know what I learn when I learn it. My Lexus has the best integration I'd ever seen, the Mercedes SL I considered had awesome interface (and even gave me a back massage), the BMW m4 had fantastic nav/gps integration and interface. I'm feeling at a loss on this lone comparative weakness I found between our car and the others...hoping for a quick resolution!

Don't worry about this goofy app, and JUST DRIVE!

You have to have Spotify premium account for it to access Spotify which means a monthly fee.

Is there a hack that will allow you to use this App without tethering it to USB?

I usually leave my phone in a briefcase, and popping it out to plug it in seems very 10 years ago...

Anyone have any idea about when this might be available for Android? The is a reference on the JLR website that it would be available in 2015??? Ha!

Let's get clear on the ramblings here.

Is what is being said that the app has recently been opened up to cars prior to 2016?

If we own a 6s, the app wont work, even without dealer flash?

As an 6S owner, please provide clear information so we don't waste our time taking our cars to JLR for nothing.

FWIW, I took delivery of a 2016 base F-Type this weekend. I have a regular iPhone 6+ (not S). I also need the software update.

I just tried out the app on my 2017 SVR and iphone 6S and can verify it does not work.

Make sure you are using the other USB port (not the one you are probably using most of the time for audio playback).
