Playing with the InControl apps on my 2016MY and launching JustDrive (iOS) tells me I need to contact my retailer for a software update (I assume this means dealer!). However I notice in the Setting menu it states that I can download a file from the JaguarUSA site to a USB stick and upload it via the USB media socket in the console.
So, I can't find that link anywhere and is it even the same ? Anybody else been down this path and avoided a trip to the dealer (although I do have a campaign for the Service Indicator still outstanding according to Topix) ?
Still very smiley when sitting in the driver seat. Wonder how long that will take to wear off ;-)
What System software are you running? My '16 came with version 5636 and that works fine with the latest version of JustDrive.
Click on inControl Apps, the gear symbol in the lower left corner, and then software.
But I can't see any sign of a download there. Guess maybe they removed it ? Unless they meant the InControl iOS app on my phone which is already the latest release.

No, you need to get ver.5636 loaded onto your car.
Well this baffled my dealership - they think a software update of the infotainment is worth a shot but say that can take up to two hours....anybody already run into this an know
I think my car is a March 15 build. So I just missed the boat.
Stupid as this sounds, do you happen to have the work order saying what they actually did. Worryingly my dealer tech said this was the first one they had come across and were going to open a TA with Jaguar to confirm what to do. Sadly I'm stuck with the dealer I have unless I fancy a two hour drive...but maybe that would be worth it ;-)
When I first got my '16 RRS I had that window pop up when I was connecting to JustDrive , I went through the procedure 4 or 5 times, then suddenly it connected and I haven't had that problem since. Try it, might be worth a shot!! I don't know what version I have.
This is not the maps update they are sending mailers about, but just general in control updates? I found this last night, and surprised myself. =) I never dig deep enough into all the features.

Yes, this is actually a firmware update to the infotainment system that is required to make it compatible with JustDrive and inControl Remote as well, i believe.
Revisited the dealer today and after about four hours my firmware update(s) were done. Apparently not just the infotainment but also the telematics module(s) according to the tech. On the upside, whilst it was plugged into the computer he did the remaining campaign for the emissions hose behind the driver seat, so I'm all up to date apart from the software update for the tweeters in the coupe.
Have to say though, JustDrive is a little disappointing compared to Apple's CarPlay which I had retrofitted via a Pioneer deck in my Audi. I suppose though now the firmware is in place other improvements may come along in software.
Anyway it appears the option to upgrade your own firmware via a USB stick as suggested by the head unit menu is no longer available. I guess maybe too many people borked their Jag ;-)
Quick follow up - I'm always being told my data connection isn't good enough (unless I'm sitting in the garage on house wifi) and that I should try again later. When I run a Speedtest on cellular only, I'm getting what I would consider easily good enough results. Anybody else who actually can get JustDrive connected care to share their Speedtest ?
So to round out the story, it wasn't JustDrive at fault, it was a T-Mobile Carrier Update (27.1) on iOS which knocked out JustDrive and it appears a few other IP4 related applications. Kudos to the JustDrive support folks for remote logging and testing. T-Mobile just released 27.2 for the iPhone and they and I agree it seems to have resolved it. Still not quite CarPlay experience but I'm told they plan to add additional features like being able to read out and compose text messages hands free.

I wonder when Android support will be forthcoming. Anyone know?
