Key Fob Chrome Delete?

Key Fob Chrome Delete?
Having deleted almost all the chrome from my car, the key fob cap being one of the last chrome pieces is bothering me more than it should. I was hoping there was an OEM black option just like the badges.
Has anyone done some work on their key fob to personalize it? I just tried vinyl wrapping the chrome bit; very difficult to get a smooth finish, and also prevents the chrome cap from sliding all the way back flush. That was a no go.
I've thought of painting it but concerned about the durability, although a 2K clearcoat might be good enough. Any other ideas?

I bought two silicone fob covers years ago, see here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Fit-Jaguar-...cAAOSwl-de5lyZ
They are cheap as chips, look good, work great, are very little larger than the fob itself, are non-slip (so it won't fall out of your pocket) and haven't deteriorated one iota over that time.
There is another oldish thread around here somewhere about them.

The leather looks pretty nice but I would say it's just not my style.
Honestly I will probably end up painting it and be the guinea pig, lol. Having used plastidip before, I really think it won't hold up in a pocket with other keys. I'll update this thread when I do it, with results.

I had plastidipped the chrome on my key with a metallic black plastidip. I wasn't happy with the finish and the difference in blacks on the key started to annoy me. Also the rubber finish of the plastidip started to pick up bits of fluff and cotton strands from always being in my pocket.
It looked much better when vinyl wrapped in gloss black. I don't gave any pictures and have since removed the vinyl from my key.

I remember my last Jaguar's Key Fob, getting a little rough on the edges and eventually looking like crap. When I picked up my latest Jaguar, I went ahead and ordered these silicone rubber covers (1 Blue and 1 Black)
These have been great!
