Default Key Fob Replacement

Hello all,
This is my first post here although have been a long time lurker. We currently have a Range Rover Vogue and a XFS running in the family while I am preparing to get a F-Type home as well.

My question is regarding the OEM key fobs. I am thoroughly disappointed by the blandness and was hoping to have something special atleast for the F-Type. Is it possible to get some fancier replacement key fobs for our cars? (No I am not talking about those cheap plastic ones on e-bay, more like the kinds of Maserati or even Koenigsegg if you want to press it
Any suggestions?

This is a good question. I also think the key fob is a bit lame, especially compared to how cool Porsche key fobs are.

On the other hand, with the slick keyless entry system, my fob never comes out of my pocket.

Yes, but it looks lame on the counter when I get home at night.

(and it says something about how good the car is that THIS is something we find to be bothered about)

Put it in a drawer and keep it in your pocket. Problem solved.

I found a nice leather cover on eBay, and JLR Finance sent me a lovely red growler to go with it.

I agree the key fob is a bit underwhelming. I ended up purchasing this leather cover on eBay.

Surprisingly, the leather is very high quality, as is the stitching. I've also received several compliments on them.

IIRC, it was about $30 + shipping.

I'm pretty sure we are talking about the same cover, and posted within minutes of each other.

Does it make the buttons any easier to depress? I have a devil of a time hitting the unlock.

No, the buttons are a little harder to push. I'll have to admit, I did it just for the looks. And, I rarely use the buttons, just touch the handles.

I wasn't aware that key fob covers existing - the pictured one looks great. Appears there are a gazillion of them...

Google 'jaguar leather key fob', and select 'images.' I'd post the link, but it's a mile long.

Thank you, just ordered one. I now don't have to worry about the other crap in my pocket scratching up the fob.

Son gave me a silver growler to put on the ring. Now it looks cool.

+1 Replacing these overpriced fobs when lost or damaged is mind-bendingly expensive for what they are made of. Id rather have a cheap one and not ever have to see it.

I'd love to find one with leather and stitching that mirrors what's actually in my car...
