Mine finally arrived today. Quality is good. Had to figure out how to sew the final closure but I was able to match the same stitching.

+1.
Mine arrived last week. Also very nice, and the stitching took some patience to do right.

Did y'all get and figure out the cloth tape and protective sheeting?

Didn't get any of that. Just a needle and thread. (and a fob for the remote, some rings and a couple mini lanyards)

That's what my package looked like too. I ended up not using the dual sided tape, just the thread.

I was at the dealer yesterday to talk about an F-Pace for the misses. While I was there, I had the service dept check out the F-Type. When I handed off the key, I got a nice ooo-ahhh from the service rep who proceeded to show it around. One of the guys mumbled "Better than anything we have." Thanks again to LynxFX for the original find.

I ordered one on 27Feb and it was at my door 7Mar. Really fast shipping. I ordered the brown leather and was originally confused because the auction pictures show 3M adhesive to close it, but it showed up with thread and a needle.

Interestingly enough, the stitch pattern on the rest of the 3 sides require a two-needle stitch process, so I had to find another needle to close the gap. All in all, it looks great and I love it (even if it does make the buttons harder to push).

I was able to reproduce the stitch with a single needle and continuous thread. Required an up and back pattern.

Very nice. One question, though. I take it that, in the unlikely event you need to get to the mechanical key in the fob, you have to rip the stitching you did out, is that right?

Hmmm...good point. If at home, just use the spare. If on the road, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Default Way cool guys

Very cool looking guys. I don't have a key fob for my 91 but I want a cover anyway.

My pet peeve with Fobs is a wimpy connection out to your keyring - re: Viper Remotes.

Went with this setup. A heavy tank but I love how it takes that flimsy corner piece out of the equation.

How about the subject of this post? I recently lost one of my two fob/key devices. I still have 1, however I'd like a 2nd. What is the easiest way to replace? Can I get a replacement anywhere and program myself? I'm in the US. Thanks in advance for help here.

Can only be programmed by a dealer or other JLR authorized key replicator.

$416 retail, $269 here:T2R23391
Probably another $200 to program and cut the emergency key inside.

Too funny. Normally Murphy wins in my life. Last night (now that I was ready to order the new fob and key) - my missing one showed up! Murphy lost!!!
