Traction has been horrific out here, I suppose I've been spoiled with SoCal roads... I imagine it would be really bad in the R!

Normally you get stuck behind two vehicles that are going nearly the same speed side by side. The person on the left is really slow to pass the vehicle on the right. What we did was the "leader" would get in front of the car in the left lane then slow down to create a gap that would allow the entire group to slip through and pass the slow vehicle in the right lane. Then the "leader" was now the last car in the train. Rinse and repeat. I have never made the trip to vegas faster than that day.
I imagine it would be awesome to do a long drive with a pack of F-Types as well.

Honestly depends on time of day. At 12 p.m. last Friday there were no delays.
I remember taking that route with my family as a youth and just remember signs and billboards everywhere warning about how dangerous that highway is and how many people have died there. Probably not the case now I'm an adult but would love to try that route.

My youngest nephew was killed on it last March 11th by a (cuss word x 10 to the 1000000 power) impatient female. She decided the tanker truck was going too slow, so she crossed the double yellow line and hit him head on. Put his car side way across the road then a Ford F-150 broadsided him on the driver side smashing him. He died shortly after that.
Driving that hiway, you literally take your life in your hands.
If a tanker truck is coming at you from the opposite direction (especially up hill), you have a high probability of being hit head on.

It still is the case. People still die on that hiway.

One of my most memorable driving experiences was with an old Merc SLK group. We did a drive to Vegas from LA, about 10 cars. It is pure fun driving with a group of the same car, but even more fun as we got into a groove and worked as a team to bypass traffic.

It's an amazing experience to have a pack of FTYPEs (and even throw in an Etype and an Xtype) running together at xxx mph ( actual number withheld to protect the guilty) on the interstates of Maine and a few back roads as well. Nothing like it for those in it or those that got to witness it.
