Default Lease Return Tire Question

Lease is up on my MY 17 R-Coupe. I replaced the P-Zero tires about a year ago with Michelin PS4S which are still in great shape. I'm in Southern California dealing with Chase Bank and Santa Monica Hornburg. Will I get any hassle for the tires not being the original P-Zeros? I also have a little curb rash on the right front rim, should I have that fixed by third party or not?

Thanks for any advice.

You'll be fine on the Michelins. They may/may not ding you on a bit of road rash. I'd be inclined to not repair it in advance. You could get an estimate, just in case they give you a hard time and propose an outlandish cost.

Tires just need to be in good shape (i.e. not almost at or beyond the wear marks).

Total crapshoot. I returned mine with 3/32 on the rear at best and they didn’t give me a problem (4/32 required). I had been debating whether or not to put used tires on and am glad I didn’t. I wouldn’t spend the money to repair the curb rash and see what they say.

+1 great tip - always good to get a couple estimates - I used to do lease returns and always tried to be reasonable, but I have had friends and family that were told fixing a wheel was almost as much as a new one or a paint chip repair estimate that would be consistent with a new paint job. Oh the joys of leasing......

I had a wheel repaired in the last six months. It was scratched in three different places. The wheel now looks brand new and the repair only cost $120. I had the repair done at the local Jag dealer, who farmed out the work.

I to sadly have to return my F-type convertible Hornburg Santa Monica. It will be in the next few weeks. A very sad time for me. However, I did just buy an older XKR convertible and I'm gonna give that a whirl for a while as they are wonderful cars, just different.

Thank you everyone for replying and giving me some valuable input on this matter.. I'm so torn giving up this amazing car. As far as leasing again....it seems like Jaguar is sitting on their hands during the COVID situation....most likely cutting production and exports. They seem totally uninterested in talking about deals on new leases...my residual on my current f type is about 57.5K ...I don't know if it makes sense to buy a still depreciating car with 2 years left on warranty at a higher than market residual. I may keep extending my lease for a couple more months to see if JLR comes around to offering any good incentives on the MY 21"s.
Thank Again

If you love the car, why not buy it out? 57 doesn't seem out of line for residual. If you think it should be lower, make them an offer
But you know the history and condition of the car so it's a safe bet.

Well, I turned my F-Type convertible in at the dealer today. Very sorry to see it go.

I will now start bonding with my 2010 XKR Convertible.
