I could not notice this change in real life at all.

This helps explain:
This is really a duplicate topic. In the first topic, I compared top rated Osram HID Night Breakers to the Car Rovers side by side. The Car Rover LEDs are substantially brighter. The DZGs are another significant step up from the Car Rovers.

@Racer X Just skimmed that thread and it kinda looks like the HIDs are better. Maybe I'm crazy, but I can see more clearly everything lit by the HIDs but the LEDs seem to wash things out (might be that glare you mention in one of your posts) and they seem to be roughly the same brightness. I thought it was going to be a huge difference and I had already added them to my amazon shopping cart, so thanks for posting the other thread to give a good visual!

Unhingd hit the nail on the head, the 6000 degree color is a disadvantage that needs to be overcome. So even at 10,000 LMs (self proclaimed) vs 6,400LMs, Car Rovers are only a little brighter than the Osrams in actual use, and the bright lights are close to the same IMO. The DZGs are more significantly brighter still, including the brights.

But don't expect stadium lighting from any of these, there is only so much power in any 35W system. The LEDs are rated at 45W and 50W, but thats "equivalent Watts" like any LED bulb. I would say its more like 40W for the Car Rover and 50W for the DZGs.

The photos are hard to go by, since the camera tries to meter the exposure.

It might also adjust the white balance, which would make it difficult to compare colors.

company in china has got the facelift oe LED headlight retro working

just waiting to see what solution they come up with install, hopefully they'll provide a pnp harness

also no idea what functionality they'll be able to carry across - these LED headlights are not a true adaptive headlight (that's on the 2020), but rather share similar functions to top spec oe bi-xenon with auto highbeam and cornering light only

as per my other posts, i've tried literally every bulb from osram and phillips, the cbb give the whitest light with least amount of output tradeoff, the osram laser give the most output but are halogen yellow

Just checked with the Chinese seller on those facelift headlights. They cost around 2.8k USD per pair and are made to swap out the pre-facelift headlights.

Even if it was OEM housings, I very much doubt the quality of the componentry or the engineering in the actual light output, color, throw, spread, etc. Definitely not worth what they're asking.

That's a hard sell with the poor QA they're bound to have.. kind of a shame as the only feature I wanted that my car doesn't have are LED headlights. Not that it's more useful, HIDs can be better in many cases. It just feels nice to have, lol.
