Lexol on leather?
#21
I've used Lexol with no complaints on previous cars, but I used the Leather Conditioner & Protectant that came with my 2018 F-Type and was quite pleased with the results.
For vinyl I used 303 Aerospace Protectant because it was advertised to not produce a shine--I don't like shiny vinyl, or leather for that matter. 303 did not produce a shine and I highly recommend it.
I will use both of these products on my 2022 when it arrives (hopefully in March).
Just my opinion of course.

The reason you had streaks and had trouble buffing the leather after the application of Lexol is very simple: you did only half the process. The conditioner loosens dirt and salts which come to the surface, leaving it sticky and streaked. What you describe is the perfectly normal result of the first part of the process. My procedure after the application and absorption of the conditioner is always to apply a bit more conditioner to a microfibre cloth to act as a lubricant, and I use this to remove the dirt and residue; then I buff the surface of the leather. The amount of dirt that comes off the leather (even apparently clean leather) is simply amazing
or should I say, appalling!

Lexol
Hey all, I'm getting a detail next week before my first service and they said that they use Lexol leather conditioner on the leather. Don't know if it is OK or not but it kind of made me cringe. How do y'all think this ranks on the car care quality scale? The guy is OK using something else if I bring it in.
Thanks!
Thanks!
