Ligurian black paint

Ligurian black paint
I've committed to a SVR (currently in transit) and just noticed that the paint color listed on the build sheet is Ligurian Black Gloss. In all the pics I saw it looked black, and on the main description page indicates SVO Premium Palette Black, so I thought it was black. But I've never seen it in person and wonder if it looks sort of dark blue in the sun. The color on the Jaguar site makes it look blue and now I'm freaking out a bit. Can anyone weigh in with real life visual? Thanks.

I have never seen Lingurian black in person only in pics and videos of a few Land Rovers and it's really hard to tell if it has a tint to it. There are very few SVO Premium Black SVRs in the US and I don't recall ever seeing one. What is your serial number? Should be LCK6xxxx I can see if I have any data on it. Also the data sheet might be wrong. I have noticed that for SVO Premium Colors the only way to be sure of the color is to get the paint code from the door jamb.

It is Borealis Black according to the paint code on door jamb. Here is a video on YouTube of your car when it was at the dealer New last year. And congrats! You have the only Borealis Black SVR in the US. This color is extremely rare. Only 8 SVRs in this color for 2020

That is indeed the car! Again, thanks for your time investigating and looking up the info on it, as well as finding this video - I feel much better about it now. The paint still shows some blue, but overall it looks like a black car.
I saw that too - even from the factory a black car needs some love. Luckily, I have an incredible detailer where I live - the guy is a rumored sex offender, but he can make a black paint job look like glass. And then I drive it and 30 seconds later you can see the dust. Why do I keep buying black cars? This will be number 12.

Congrats on the car! Fellow black F-Type owner here. .. . my second black car, when clean they just look sexy .. elegant. Ceramic coating definitely helps in making it easier to clean. I wash mines usually once every 2-3 weeks. As long as it doesn't have bird crap or get rained on I can live with it not looking in showroom condition every week and rather spend the afternoon driving it.

If you dont go down the ceramic coating path, check out polish angel products. I crap on about them endlessly because they are so good, and so easy to use with virtually no effort. Another thing IMO is that silicone based products seem to attract dust whereas the traditional spray waxes dont. Whether that is fact or just coincidence I dont know, but when I was using carpro (silicone) products my cars looked good but were always covered in dust, whereas with polish angel I am getting well over a month between washes, and the cars look fantastic.

Did you paint the pitted A pillars?

I'm not sure if it was just the lighting in the video, or if you saw something that I missed. A pillars were in good shape. The detailer that I took the car to for paint correction said that he had never seen such soft paint and clear. He had a heck of a time getting all the swirls and scratches out before applying the ceramic coating. It wasn't perfect, but it was WAY better than when I received it from the dealer. The car looks black until in the bright sun when the blue flecks sparkle, and it does look amazing when clean! I would have preferred Santorini Black, but I do like how the blue flecks tie in with the blue stitching in the interior.
