Default Limp mode???

My car started in Restricted Performance mode this morning, for no apparent reason, the car drove fine last night and is new with less than 700 miles on it, so its a little unnerving for this to happen.

I let it warm up and drove it for a few blocks, stayed the same. So, I pulled over and turned off the car, then turned it on and everything worked fine! Throughout the day I drove the car and everything has been fine since.

Ill be taking it to the dealer for a quick scan to make sure all is ok, I'm curious if anyone else has experienced anything like this?

Yes mine has done it a couple times. The throttle just becomes unresponsive. I thought I was running out of gas.

Fortunately, some throttle work gets it to 'wake up' again, but something is definitely fishy. I will have a dealer run a diagnostic also.

With an old school car, the symptom is like a clogged fuel filter.

I have no indication on the display that anything is wrong. It is like the car has limited horsepower and is bogged down. Then when applying the throttle generously, it bursts into power.

If you aren't seeing any warning lights, are you certain you didn't accidentally hit the rain/snow button?

It almost sounds as if the ASL is getting engaged.

Automatic Speed Limiter. You can use ASL or cruise control, but not both at the same time. You set the max speed, and it won't let you exceed it unless you put the pedal down to the kick-down switch (if I remember correctly).
