New to the Jaguar family and starting off with the dream car that I didn't think I had a chance of owning because of me being in a wheelchair. But after some recent research and lots of great feedback from members on here, I found out that my chair fits completely in the hatch and on the passenger seat (albeit tightly). I've always had rear seat coupes for the chair storage but I'm a driver first and the F-type stole my heart ever since it came onto the scene. After watching every video and reading every article, I decided on a 400 sport. Tonight I bought and brought home a Black 2018 F-Type 400 sport with 13,800 miles, climate package 2, panoramic roof, park assist, parking aid, powered tailgate, 770w meridian and factory warranty until 3/2024.
Everything is a little surreal at moment since it's always been my dream car that I thought wasn't a real possibility but I'm happy.
Well done!
I like the grey/satin black finish on the grill surround, grille nostrils, front splitter, window trims and side vents, perfect match for the wheels.
Not seen that finish before so I guess it was specific to the 400 Sport.
Don't go getting too comfortable with the car just yet we have a million ways to help you spend lots more money on it.
This is so awesome. I'm glad it worked out for you.
About the auto high beams, with the other options you listed, I would think it would have them.
Thanks, man! Yeah, the auto high beams were a part of the blind spot/lane departure warning package I think. Oh well, in the grand scheme of things, for the price I paid and the trade deal I got for my C43, small potatotes.
I am glad I found this. I too thought the Jag was not the car for me because of the lack of back seat. What is your transfer process like?
Pretty easy, actually. I'll post some vids once I get it back from the dealer (doing an infotainment update right now). I got it all set up.
Side skirt protector in place that folds in between the door and the seat when not in use. I got one that matches the yellow stitching of the interior perfectly but there's also one on Amazon in all black for even less $ that operates the same exact way.
Passenger interior door protector in place at all times when I drive alone. Slides between the glass and the door frame easily and you can still operate the window just fine.
A passenger seat cover that slips on and off in seconds. There because when I am alone, the wheelchair goes in the passenger footrest and some of it is on the seat (protects the leather).
The wheels go behind my head on top of the hatch cover when I drive alone.
When I drive with a friend or my girl, the entire wheelchair fits in the hatch (without the hatch interior cover) and they place it there and bring it back out to me when getting out of the car (very easy once you know how to place it correctly
I am attaching some photos so that you can see the setup.
This is where I put my wheels when I drive solo (tried it first at a dealership I used to work at cuz they had a white F Type on the lot) You can see the passenger door protector in place (this is at the shop where I got the tint/ceramic coating/PPF done). Passenger seat protector. Slips on and off in seconds with ease. You can see my wheelchair in the back (the night I bought the car and drove it back home from the dealer with a friend). This is my hand control (had to adjust driving with my left hand - easy for every day, but still mastering the spirited driving cuz wanna be in full control). This is my side skirt protector that folds up like an accordion when not in use.)

Thanks for the post and pics.
Looks like the frame barely fits in the back. Nice hand controls. Are those Menox hand controls? Look way more modern and newer than mine.
Thanks for showing a Jaguar shouldn't be crossed off the list.
