Default Looking For 2021 Owner Reviews

I’ve been giving some thought to the recent forum critiques regarding the new 2021 and feel it’s perhaps time for an “owners review” thread. I will therefore start off by sharing my experience in hope that other 2021 owners might do the same. I purchased the R which enjoys the increased HP and suspension changes. In full disclosure, I will never fully realize that potential based on my driving habits however, it’s nice to know it’s there. Overall, it has been very positive as it relates to the newer technology as most were loosing their s**t on not having CarPlay. This is my third F Type and I feel that the ride quality and handling is better than the previous two. I finally after 2,000 miles on the clock am enjoying the signature pops and crackles and who doesn’t like that? The decision to have it start in quiet mode works for me as sometimes “less is more…” I have come to really appreciate the new design, which in my opinion is by no means a radical departure. That said, no matter how hard I stare at the front end, I just can’t see a Mazda! That’s all for now, looking forward to hearing from other owners.

Dave

Nice, is that BRG ? What color interior ? I have not yet placed an order but the last I heard was a 4 month lead time. If Spegor has been waiting more than 8 months, that is a bit worrisome. How much of a deposit was required to have the factory build a specific combination ?

Thanks! It is BRG with tan interior. I did not order the car as I saw it on the showroom floor (Reno) when I was doing a lease return. I was offered a discount on the lease buy-out of my 17 R however, I fell for the 2021. There were only two in Northern California (to the best of my knowledge) in May when I made the purchase.

I haven't decided yet if I want BRG with the tan Windsor leather, Santorini Black with the same, or Eiger Gray with Ebony Windsor leather. I wish that the Mars Red leather was darker cherry colored, it would look great with any of those exterior colors but looks way too bright red. At least in the photos.

I've come to like it, just an evolution. Spent more time at dealer during recent service so could really check it out. They didn't have an R and only a base conv. to look at.

Yes 4 months to deliver, so they said by April 2020 , but Covid slowed down production.
Now the delear assured me it will be delivered by mid september. Here in Italy you need to pay €10.000 deposit to place a f-type order.
I wonder if there are some kind of problem in the UK factory or in Jaguar Land Rover company after Covid.

Finally I got my new 2021 F-type, its a 450PS AWD R-Dynamic.
Very happy. This new F-type is impressive. Not only for the 5.0 V8 factor over the previous 3.0V6 (2017), but this new f-type is a lot better in every aspect. Starting from the interior materials, more refined, the more fast gearbox, obviously the multimedia is now updated with very fast software, larger screen and a fabolous digital tachymeter. I have not the surround stereo system, but the normal meridian, and I can say that it is perfect, now the bass and subs is perfect and a lot deeper than the previous, its the same or even better than the one on the 2015 XJ. Awesome the new pixel led with the adapive option. But....
The engine WOW, it is not comparable with the V6, it is another planet. Really impressive. I totally agree with this road test
This car is so silent when you drive in normal mode at low speed, also when you start engine, it seems a luxury car not a sporty.
But when you put your foot on the gas.... WOW incredible sound, lot better than the 2010 5.0 XKR. Fabolous, And the power seems a lot more than 450.
Jaguar with this mid life update made the perfect GT sport car in my opinon.

Spegor,

Spot-On review, I too have become more impressed with the overall features of the 2021. As previously posted, this is my third F Type and there is no comparison to its predecessors. The technology glitches are resolved, the handling is superior and the power is impressive. I have thoroughly enjoyed each of my F Types however, this one is IMO a class act. Quiet when you start her up, and an animal at wide open throttle. Thanks for the pictures, it's a beautiful color and I know it will exceed your expectations!

Dave
