Looking for f-type R RWD

Strange that you did not get the V8R RWD 550bhp convertible in the USA, maybe because there were so few produced they did not stretch over the pond.
The main difference between the V8S RWD convertible and the V8R RWD convertible apart from a few smaller updates was the BHP being increased to 550BHP on the V8R RWD convertible but only being manufactured for a few months in 2015 before changing to AWD so as I have before mentioned a very rare one to find having only found two others.

What adds complexity to this discussion is the difference between model year definitions here and in Europe. For example, in Europe an MY15 was built in calendar year 2015, whereas in the US, MY15 was built from late April 2014 to March 2015. So, for at least 9 months, US MY16s were built at the same time as UK MY15s were being built. I can therefore imagine that UK MY15 R verts were produced.

It also happened to be one of the best purchase experiences I've had buying a car, and I'm looking at buying a car for my wife from them. I'd give them a chance if it's a car you are interested in.
At some point in the future I'll introduce myself and tell the story of the worst warranty experience I've ever had trying to get some stuff fixed.

I have also seen this on many other European models, and you can't find an European coupe as a MY14 model, as when the first coupes came out, they were labeled as MY15 models.

I don't think that is correct. In Europe the MY15 was built from April 2014 (not shure for how long in 2015). My R was built early April 2014, and the official papers says it is a MY15 model.

I am shocked to be honest that you confirmed to me that there are no V8R RWD 550BHP convertible variants in the USA, must be more rare than I first thought.

I understand that the Castle Bromwich factory where the F-Type is built normally closes down for a month around mid-September then starts up again around mid-October, and the change over to the new model year happens at that time, at least for ROW cars.

To the OP if you haven't found one yet I may consider getting rid of my white on black '15 coupe w/ 8k miles. I have two sets of wheels both with new Michelin PS4s. The car is also fitted with H&R springs. I have a new car on order so I need to start making room in the garage. PM me if interested.

The V8 S has the same engine as the R and SVR, so you can tune it to 650 BHP very quickly and reliably for about $1000. Another benefit of the RWD V8 S is that it is around 176 lbs lighter than a AWD V8 R, giving it the highest power to weight ratio of any F-Type when tuned.

Correct. The only V8 RWD convertibles ever made are all 2014 V8 Ss. There are no 2014 coupes. So the only way to own a V8 RWD convertible is a V8 S.

You could get the 'vert R 550 hp RWD for a couple of years (2016 and 2017) in RHD markets such as UK and Oz, see here for example: https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/det...-6336896/?Cr=5
I now remember, THIS was the only advantage with the F-Type us Aussies had over you Yanks until the new 2021 model line-up.

The car in your link however is the same as my car, here we go again going round and round in circles, no pun meant....definitely going to book a factory tour in the new year and get to the bottom of this.
Thanks everyone for all your input.
