Looking to say goodbye....

Jaguar is known for that sort of stuff, when I bought my XKR it was light years ahead of its direct competitors Ferrari California, Aston, BMW M6...and all of those changed their technology to match jaguar, such as going to aluminum monocouque.

Just found this thread. Not disagreeing, but I am excited about keeping my 2019 F-Type til I want to sell it, because it may appreciate rapidly due to the manual.
But I think they've said this about every auto brand, Merc most recently.
We're in a moment of the greatest disturbance in the history of cars... climate change & move to EV + NHTSA + possible future autonomous "rules" + consolidation of brands, etc. Insurance is going to get more expensive, gasoline too with the switch to EV, all these rules / fuel consumption things, etc. Very, VERY few brands are going to make it out of this, especially since 90% of the population just want fleet vehicles and couldn't tell or care if they're in a Toyota, Hyundai, or Kia.
What I'm saying is that probably *every* brand is going through some complex and profoundly destabilizing decisions, sort of winging it as all this churn goes on. A few years ago I was saying "I wonder who will be the first to really focus on EV", and now I'm asking "who will be the last producer of ICE cars"?
Also, this fascination with the Corvette is the most bewildering thing to me. I am so lost on it. It's an overpowered and ugly transformer. So weird to me!

Sad
This is something I began thinking about lately too. We own a 2019 E Pace and a 2018 F Type. The E is nice and utilitarian. The F is sex on wheels. I like/love them because they are Jaguar and different. They both have a style and feel that make them Jaguar.
After the “we’re going all electric “ and then the “we’re going upscale “ announcements I realized they will very likely be my last. I won’t go electric and probably will be priced out of the upscale.
Sad.

I've owned vettes, Audi 04 S4, Audi S7, BMW 540, Volks GTI, SUB STI, and probably a couple others I dong recall offhand. Today it's a 2019 Miata, 2017 F-Type R and F250 pickup. Hands down the miata is the most fun girl you ever dated, F-Type hottest and most attention getting super-model that will rock your world, and the F-250....uhm, lets just say she works hard and great cook... but keep the lights off and blinds closed.

Their search for a younger audience is working on me at least. When my F Pace arrives I'll be exclusively a Jag owner, and I don't see that changing for a while.
I see this sentiment towards a lot of brands, new cars in general are very different to older ones and definitely more homogenous. I think that may be something to do with it.
