Default Lose anything under the car seat?

Every now and then I’ll grab something from the center console or be holding something and accidentally drop it between the center console and the car seat.

It’s such a royal pain in the ***, as it is nearly impossible to get anything out from under the car seat.

My latest loss is an iPod Shuffle. I can’t even see it under the seat let alone get my arm under there to feel around for anything. I wrote it off.

Anyone else lose anything under the seat that they gave up on trying to get back?

Just venting.

I reckon I have a small fortune in coins under the driver's seat, but nothing bigger (yet)!

I thought above stuffing an extra microfiber cloth down there. Don't how many cough drops have fallen to their deaths.

I didn't 'lose' something but the previous owner did.

While giving my new to me X308 XJR a valet I discovered a video tape under the drivers seat so I put it in our video player to see what was on it. It turned out to be a **** video so I assume the previous owner hid it there.

As it was a private sale I contacted him to say that I had found the video and asked whether he would like it sent back to him. He said I could keep it!

Time magazine subscriptions come with a magnetic pen nowadays, to pry small metallic items like coins out of tiny spaces. Now I know what to use it for.

Won't work for Oz coins as they are all cupro-nickel and have been for over 50 years, and I suspect US coins are the same.
Even then the last non cupro-nickel Oz coin was the (now rare) round 50c coin from 1966 (and 1967??), and it was silver so still non-magnetic!

Store bought unless he had gone to great lengths to create his own video.

Only ferrous coins in the U.S. I know about are the steel pennies minted during WWII.

I bought a camera that can be linked to my mobile. You download an app to controll it. On the end is a 3mm cam with a tiny light. I used it for all sorts.
To put surveillance camera's on the outside walls I wanted to lead the cables through cavaties inside the concrte floorplates of my house... It turned
out to be excellen for finding a non-obstructed channel... Also an issue with leading a new drain for a new showerroom down a cavity wall...
Tube got stuck in places I could not see ( shoving it through rockwool insulation ). By putting the camera inside the drain pipe on the leading
edge, I could direct the pipe by twisting around barriers like electricity cables and so on..

With this cam you could easily look under the seat from any direction..

Any way : put in the highest position first, max forward and tilt the backrest forward : 90% chance you can see already under the seat from the rear..

I just tried Dan's height/tilt/forward tip and nada, zilch, nuffin!
Either there was nothing there to find or the little buggers are hiding more towards the front and/or under the seat rails. Without being a 60 lb contortionist (rules me out on both counts!) there is no way of seeing from the back right through to the front. I know I have lost a few coins under the seat rails and most times I have been able to flick them out from under, but I'm sure there are more hiding there yet.

Cursed by this thread, I was vacuuming out my interior and lost a small attachment into the seat area. Recommend a vacuum cleaner to grab lighter items. I have a metro with all the attachments so a lot of options on which head to try.

See the thread re: flipping the car. That should shake it loose.

Dropped a loose office key last week...was initially not seeing it and was REALLY worried it got into that box around the seatbelt since it seems to be affixed to the seat and not the tunnel. When I got home, I was able to get better light and, after moving the seat REALLY far forward, it had landed between the rail and the carpet over the tunnel. It must have landed JUST right to wedge in there like that...but I found it and retrieved it.
