Lotus Emira

The Emira would probably be the only sports car that could get me out of the 2015 R. Just a gorgeous car. Six + manual. My only worry would be how frail it would be - specifically if I was ever forced to park it on the street. Ten years or so my buddy's Lotus got barely tapped by a park by braille driver.

I had a 2014 Evora S, purchased new with a dealer within one hour from me. I liked the car very much. The issue was Lotus, the car had minor issue which took a lot of time to repair. I owned the car for two years and in the 24 months of ownership the car was at the dealership for service for 7 of those months. I had to go to my AG in order to get the car repaired. I visited the factory for a tour and to drive the test track, while I was there I spoke with several people at the factory about the car and they actually asked me about the lemon laws in my state, as if they just did not want to deal with the car.
I ended up selling the car before the warranty was up. The car was fun to drive, mine was a manual, the shifter left a lot to be desired, the leather was cheap and was already showing signs of wear with 10k miles, the leather on the airbag shrank and bowed and created gaps, the blower motor blew white powder throughout the car on heat or AC , the side door mirrors vibrated so bad you could not see. The rear alignment was off so much I wore the first set of tires out in 2500 miles, the clutch would go to the floor after sitting over night and once I would reach down and pull the peddle up it would be ok for a while and it would do it again. The stereo would just quit working and start working again. The cars body panels were wavy, it was explained to me that the waves are caused due to the gluing of the panels which created heat and would cause the dimples. When I first waxed the car I notice a good bit of sanding scratches in the paint, I never complained about it but for a $100k car I think it should have been better. This is just what I can remember about the car.
I would like to think that Lotus today is a better car company since the take over, but I would wait and see before taking the plunge.

Anyone wanting an Emira without some extra cash to burn might want to move on - about a $30k dealer ADM and a 1-2 year wait -- https://www.ebay.com/itm/16554149193...oAAOSwKGNiSv9B

Totally depends on the dealer. The dealer I have a deposit with is selling at MSRP for "local" buyers.
First edition allocations are sold out in the US and yes, there has been delay after delay. Even for UK buyers. Most likely it will be a year and a half to two years before base editions are available to someone who just puts down their deposit.

Well since we're considering alternatives, if you're really thinking about walking on the wild side, Midlana, the car in my signature, will be up on BringaTrailer in a few weeks. Midlana ? Build a mid-engine Seven using a FWD drivetrain

Had a Lotus Evora, very easy to maintain and with little money was upgraded to 400+ hp and what a beast to drive. Only thing wrong was it ate rear tires for breakfast, lunch and dinner and if you went to the track, ate them as a midnight snack. Only put 8k miles on it before a lady tried to make a left turn from the right lane, but I went through two sets of rear tires. So they lasted about 6-7k miles, also body parts are hard to come by.
My local dealer has 13 Emira in stock

I had an Emira on order in the Uk for two years. I was to be in the first 100 people to receive one. I test drove it twice, it looked great and was much improved over other Lotus cars in terms of fit and finish.
i opted to get my deposit back and cancel the order and reviewed either the Aston vantage 2021 or Ftype before buying the Ftype.
the lotus is a great car, noisy on the road and the gearbox was slow and dim witted and the seats were no way near as comfy as the jags performance seats.
i guess I wanted a GT TYPE car as opposed to a sports car.
ive not looked back on my purchase of the Ftype.
