Love affair coming to I close I fear - seeking advice
Dear F-Type enthusiasts:
I'm probably going to be selling my 2014 (low, low mileage) SV8 in the spring. My wife wants to get a '17 C63 Cabriolet and we can't really justify 2 hot convertibles in the household. We need a 5 seater to shuttle the family around. I've had the last 2 "spare" cars and I told her when she's ready for a new one, it would be her turn.
What would you recommend as the best way to sell this? I know I'll get screwed on a trade-in, but need to make enough on the private sale to warrant the sales tax savings I'd enjoy on the trade-in.
If anyone is interested in learning about it, please PM me. I'm in the greater Philadelphia area.
Now I'm thinking about what my "sensible" car might be - starting to look at 550i x-drives....

F-Type to SUV? Now, that's one way to castrate someone. Get an M5 if you're hell-bent on losing the F-Type for a 5 seater.

You couldn't pry my F-Type away, but the F-Pace isn't a bad option. Same engine and transmission. You'd be stepping down from a 8-cyl to 6-cyl, but that, too, might change in the next MY. Admittedly, we cheated and have one of each. Happy wife.

That's the spirit problem is once you start to hoard it's tough to stop.
Then you have to build a shed to put them in.
Then you have to buy a charger for each one so if you want to play.
Then you have to buy a cover for each one.
Then you have to replenish mouse poison every month.
Then you have to drive occasionally to keep fresh.
Then you have to get special insurance as it's no longer a daily driver.
Then you have to flush the anti-freeze every 5 years even with few miles.
Then you have to buy new tires as they start to check with age not wear.
Then you have to keep pumping up slow leaking tires.
Then you have to keep justifying with the wolf why they are out there.
Then you have to feed the leather every couple years to keep soft.
Then you have to figure out why they won't start when you want them to.
Hoarding is a perfect idea... trust me!

Besides, I didn't give much time to the F-Type - as I said, got the vehicle in September of 13 and have not yet crossed 5,000 miles.

10 years of 10 XJ12's in the shed can be... problematic. A Zen attitude is a must, which at times, I don't seem to be able to locate mine. Generally right after I go down to start 10 cars and only 7 wake up. This can be
"a problem"...
