Eventuri Carbon Intake Kit Jaguar F Type 5.0 SC - Jaguar F-Type Forum
I'm surprised they didn't box out the entry to incorporate the exiting air horn entry to the stock box. (Items number 5/6) in diagram. Perhaps you can make a carbon box to work with it? If you were closer I'd certainly help.

Let us know your results if you decide to dyno before and after.
I'll be doing the upper tubing segment in carbon shortly, which would be a great add to finish the system out.

Regards,
Derek Fricke

Hate to bring up an old thread but domino_z did you end up ordering the Eventuri Intake and if so what do you think of it so far?

Not exactly muthbusted, on some cars it does make a good difference like 02-03 Cobras. That second video of the s2000 is true though, the stock intake is best.

I have that Eventuri intakes on my 2015 R. The intake sound is much more pronounced. I can't comment on performance increases as they were installed the day after I bought the car.

Can you make a video capturing the sound?

+1 I would appreciate if you could do a small video as well. I would consider upgrading if there was some benefit (sound, performance etc. ) I'm stupid like that.

Thank you

Smoke,

Cambo has posted on this issue, including just recently. The OEM intakes on the V6 and V8 F-Types are identical (same part number). If that intake is good for 550HP, then it's probably more than adequate for your V6S, and your gain will probably be zero.

Perhaps there is a reason to upgrade on an R, but I can't comment on that.

Don't worry, I'm just like you. If it sounds cool, I'll do it. I doubt any intake on the market will increase power for the R. I want that sc whine. HWHHRHRRRRRRRRR

lol. Thanks Foosh and appreciate the info. I agree the $2,000 is a lot of money and if not worth probably won't but still my curiosity will get the best of me so I would like to hear and see if the sound is worth it. It would have to sound amazing for me to venture down that road, but if I do it's behind the other list of items I have scheduled for the next 45 days. =)

If you want maximum intake noise and (hopefully) some blower whine, you'll need to do something like this;

an open airbox will definitely give you more blower whine - whether you'll hear it over the exhaust from inside the car is another story (that is on the R at least)

whether the intake tube from airbox to plenum is plastic or metal won't make any difference to the sound

Getting rid of the Heimholtz resonators on the intake piping is also a key aspect of increasing the noise, i.e. going to straight tubing.

EDIT

And metal does make a difference, there is a reason why trumpets and saxophones are made of brass and not polyethylene.

Yeh materiel does make a difference when exhaling i.e. exhaust

But intake you'll be struggling over engine noise

Pretty sure that Venturi replaces the lower piping that has the resonance chamber. Even if it doesn't, the bulk of the noise is coming from an open Airbox design

Not my experience. I put a cold air intake on the Land Cruiser when it had the original straight 6, and had to go back to stock because the intake became deafening. Minor modifications to the air box on my MINI made a huge difference on SC whine. In fact, over 4k rpm you can only hear the SC over the sport exhaust. On the V6S, I have to be pushing redline just to get a hint of whine. (of course, that sound is competing with the exhaust in open mode).

Misunderstood you. I categorize noise as intake noise, engine noise and exhaust sound. No doubt in my mind the V8 exhaust sound inside the cockpit will always supersede any other kind of noise without disconnecting the symphonator, or whatever they call it. Fortunately, engine noise (mostly valve train) can only be heard at idle on the F-Type. The Triumph Thunderbird is nothing but valve train noise.

It's not just a function of decibel level. The V6 makes it's noise at higher frequencies than the V8. I can see how the V6 at WOT might be more likely to almost completely mask the sound of s-charger whine. I barely hear it well.
