Oh yes I did!
Video/recording will not help you. I've listened to dozens of these on the web and it doesn't help. Too many variables and amateur recording equipment.
My experience:
I compared my SVR w/200 cell cats to a stock SVR (side by side) at the dealer.
200cell = more pops/crackles (sharper), no codes thrown due to VAP Chris's magic.
Loud mode = Way louder (great when you want to show off) and a little deeper
Quiet mode - A hair louder and a little deeper
When I did this sound test 10 out of 10 people at the dealer liked the 200 cell cats.
Here is the negative: Initial cold start up is VERY loud for a few seconds since the exhaust flaps have not had a chance to close yet. By default they are open.
I am combatting the problem with a pump (same pump as in the older f types that still had a pump) in the left rear wheel well to close the exhaust valves when the ignition is turned on. Wait about 3 seconds for vacuum to build and the exhaust valves to close - then start her up ...
I am awaiting a few misc items to complete the project. Hopefully within the next week I am done/tested and happy. I don't expect the cold startup flare to be "quiet", but at least it will be running through the muffler (valves closed) and not straight piped (valves open). Cost of the "project" is about $150 in parts.
