Plenty of resistance, just no action. Isn't a delaminated disc since the drivetrain is still in balance when in gear. Shifting fairly easy on this without a clutch, but obviously needed to launch from a start unless you're on at least a slight downhill grade.

How long did the dealer say it's going to take to fix considering they probably don't have a master in stock?
Hopefully this is an isolated issue and not a manufacturing defect for all of us

Bad luck, sorry to hear
Could be any one of a number of things related to factory assembly. Lets hope it something simple...

The dealer was not allowed to inspect the components, but had to send them off to the engineers at Volvo USA. The service department never did hear back what the problem was but it has not recurred, and I've now got 44K miles on the car.
I don't like mysteries of this nature, but with the factory footing the bill I had no choice but to accept the utter lack of information.

Or just a bad component. If the problem is the master or slave, not a big deal. If something in the throwout linkage, they'll be pulling the transmission. All part of the adventure! Worst part is having to listen to my wife pointing out that my Dad had to bail out of his '78 XJC because of reliability issues and saying she told me so. Arggh!
These things happen since cars are still made by man.
If you get soured on the 6speed F-type, I will be happy to take it off your hands. Haha.

I believe it is just an isolated incident. We had a 600 mile 2015 BMW 320 or whatever POS it is towed in for a massive coolant leak. Turns out the block plug in the head between cylinders 3 and 4 popped out.
