Manual transmission and TracDSC

Manual transmission and TracDSC
I have had no mechanical problems with my manual transmission. However, it often felt like it was holding back when I took off in first. I attributed that to the clutch delay valve. However, Unhinged disabled that valve and there was little improvement. Recently, I have been playing with the DSC button. I now find that by turning DSC off or better yet Track DSC, the hesitation is gone. I now think that it was the brakes being activated by the high torque when I launched in first that caused the hesitation. So now my protocol when starting the car is start, ECO off, exhaust on, TracDSC and sometimes Dynamic drive, close garage door, unfold mirrors.

I am not sure if it's brakes or simply cutting throttle (likely both, depending on conditions).
My protocol: start the engine, fasten seatbelt, Dynamic on (suspension and steering only, not throttle), Eco off, TracDSC. When fast idle drops to normal, begin driving.
The mornings have been cold enough here lately though that I sometimes leave DSC on for a bit. The summer tires are a little sketchy below 5C.
