Default Manually open boot - wiring is fried (car set on fire)

Hey all,

so got loads of useful feedback on my last post however something more interesting has happened

Yesterday on a drive smoke filled the cabin and we realised the back of the car was on fire!

opened up the boot (thinking this was mechanical) to grab things and realised the fire was coming from the boot! Pulled off some panels and put the fire out but annoyingly the wire running down the back is fried!
Boot was then shut and now comes my problem- it won’t open again!

car is a 2015 r convertible, question is how do I open the boot when both the fob and button won’t open it, and the car has a charged battery!

Thanks in advance

Jamie

Do you have access to the trunk from the front seats in a convertible? If you do, you maybe able to reach back to the emergency release pull (Glows green) located on the passenger side of the latch. I have only ever seen my coupe so I'm not sure if this will help but I hope it does.

Wonder if an endoscope would make it through the weather seal. Maybe with a hook on it.
