Master Blaster on a Large Vehicle

I understand what you're saying about the markup on the products, but also one must consider that for the $1000-1500 that most shops will charge for a ceramic job, they are also spending a day claying, polishing, and detailing the car before the coating goes on. I do not consider the price point unreasonable.

There is a ceramic coating that was ONLY available through car dealers. They were getting a lot of money for this scheme. $1500- $2500. They promised 5 year durability. Totally preying on fears. (remember in the 80s when they would sell us clearcoat protection at the dealership?) most roll it into the price of the financing- so they are paying even more.
Now that they sold every detailer and dealership they could on this- naturally many of them turn around and sell it on the side- supply and demand right. This thing only last a year. And not worth more than $40 bucks. And incidentally these crooks were not polishing or cleaning a car at that price, because we are talking about factory fresh cars.
Personally, I apply the ceramic only to the areas that I have a problem with water pooling and or infrequently washed areas like door jambs. Because I prefer the look of wax, and there are some now with ceramic added. But for my trucks or a big coach, ceramic is the way to go.

And that is an excellent point. If the price you quoted includes all that plus the coating, it becomes reasonable. I can't imagine doing all that paint correction on my coach before applying a coating. Well I can imagine it, but it makes my aging body hurt to think about it.
