Meridian - needs mid range or better equalizer?

I find that vocals are not the best. One can adjust the tweeter, bass or sub, but the mid-range is sorta by default. More like lower these below midpoint so you get some midrange. I wish that with this fancy system that there was a better equalizer. Or am I incorrect? You would think that there would be better software options beyond just selecting Meridian, DTS or stereo. Really!
My speakers don't rattle, but they don't perform either.

Top end systems are $5k options today. This is reality. Would all of the radio complainers be willing to pay that as an option? You could probably spend $3k at a decent shop to get a big change. Over on my Maserati site it was $3-5k to custom and those cars have a terrible $1500 "premium " radio but a good $5k B&W factory option.
