Default Michelin PS4S / Costco

I need to get a new set of tires on the car. Called Costco and the guy wanted me to go down there to verify sizes etc, wouldn't give me a price over the phone.

What have others paid from Costco? I have a V8S so 255/35 ZR20 front and 295/30 ZR20 rears.

Is it worth me taking a trip down there versus just ordering from Tire Rack - $267.95 for fronts and $340.50 for rears?

Costco's vary by region/area in terms of pricing, and some have trouble getting all sizes. If you instead buy online, shop around, I got a set from a place called discounted wheel warehouse - rears are only $289 each.

Default Costco.....

.........will not special order tires without taking payment and they won't take payment over the phone - both prohibitions for understandable business reasons.

Look at the benefits and warranties that Costco includes with tire sales (on line research) and you may well decide go there and order.....I did.

Personally, I deal directly with my dealership. Let them deal with hassles of getting quotes and managing stock levels. However, my JLR dealer has Road Force balancer, so they are equipped to do this.

Plus, my dealer knows I let them make money and that goes long way toward establishing good will. I work with them, they work with me.

Went to Costco this morning - $1316 out the door, fitted, taxes, road hazard insurance. Had a nice installation facility with Michelin certified techs.

Only problem is their local distribution facility was sold out and they need to check alternate suppliers Monday so wouldn't take my order until they can get confirmation on Monday that they can get supply.

And Costco will fill with nitrogen at no additional charge.

I start with the dealer. One can never predict where they are going to be and sometimes they are quite competitive. Then I check with a good tire house like Jack Furrier in AZ. Last I check with Costco, whom I trust unlike some tire houses. I avoid tire shops who tell you that you have to replace all four no matter what.

I just got four R-size PS4s at Costo TX, same add-ons, good techs. $1,190.42, including the discount for using the Costco Visa (instant approval at customer service counter and you can use it same day). This price does not include the Costco Executive % rebate, or Visa % rebate.

Semms like good price for 20's. My 1080 was on 19's.
