Michelin Sport 4S vs MPSS

+1. The steering wheel not being centered after an alignment is an issue of poor workmanship. If it is off-center it is because the steering wheel was not properly centered while the car was being aligned (unless the steering wheel had previously been removed for some reason).

Dealers are not a good choice for alignments. They aren't alignment pros and don't have regular experience aligning cars. You're better off going to Sears (not much, though). The Line-Up Shop sounds like the right kind of place.

I had the alignment done today post Pilot 4S install. The numbers prior to alignment were way off. The shop owner said that he sees this allot with new cars. Hopefully the alignment will help make the tires last longer than 9800 miles for the old P-Zero. See alignment report below:

I never noticed a pull-to-the-side or maybe thought it was 'normal' for the car. The wear was on the inside part of both front tires. The back side that was very off spec maybe caused more tail wag than it should of on take-off. Did well on the twisties, though. I am doing a mountain drive with the car club next weekend and will get more miles on the tires. So far really liking the Pilot 4s.

I wouldn't call that way out. Only the right front is out of spec by .8 deg on caster and .03 deg on tow. Others have complained about the P-Zeros netting very low mileage. You'll get about twice as many miles from the PS4s.

Not sure if you're nearby for any drives, but I'll be in Gold Beach on the coast in Oregon on Friday, and further north (Salishan) on Saturday, then the Allison Inn & Spa Sunday and Monday. I drive back down to the Bay Area on Tuesday midday, but if there's ever a time you want to go for a drive and you're nearby I let me know. It's a business trip that's mostly pleasure leisure. The Willamette Valley is absolutely glorious for touring.

Just an update for posterity... I know it's not fair to comment on new PS4 coming off balding / worn PSS, but dammit I've not felt solid grip like this, yet. It feels fantastic on my rears, and can't wait to wear the fronts from PSS to PS4. These are fantastic tires.
Data for future comparisons:
RW Pirelli 0 - 10,200
RW PSS 10,200 - 25,460
RW PS4 25,460 - ??
FW Pirelli 0 - 17,200
FW PSS 17,200 - ??

i just ordered a set of these - for my m3 though, as the bmw specific star spec mpss are notoriously stiff in the shoulder and are nvh enemy number 1
getting out of the m3 and into the jag with mpss is very noticeable in terms of smoothness
i will swap the mpss on jag for the 4s, but will wait for the usual wear cycle - where's the nearest skidpan.....

Yes, it was a great deal, so I jumped on it......no questions asked. Costco's extra (no charge) warranties add to their competitiveness compared to other sellers of certain product categories such as tires and electronics.

I used to own an Alfa Romeo Brera. They were known to come from the factory with enough front Toe-out to destroy the inside edge of the front tyres in less than 5k miles.

I did a mountain run with the car club today. I had set the tires to 38 psi for all 4 tires as recommended on this forum and from a friend at a race shop. Handled quite well. I am very impressed with the 4S.
