No, I'm wrapping the P7 surround with chrome film. The P7 surround is only available from JLR in grey and white.

I sped past the "P7" in your prior post... I didn't know it comes in grey... is it primed or a finished grey color?

A finished grey to go with the white P7s. The white surround is for most of the other colors offered on the P7.

Do you have to order the P7 surround or can you use the factory surround with the new P7 grill? Not sure if they would be the same part numbers or not since they look the same.

You really need to get the P7 surround as well. The standard surround has big notches in it for the bumper that goes across the opening.

My body shop is charging me $300 to paint the surround. I was hoping I could just buy a white P7 surround but it looks like you just answered that for me. Oh well.

I just recently posted the disassembly instructions on the P7 Grille thread.

So the splash shields also have to come off in order to remove the bumper?

It's an easy job to do, just lots of bolts. I found removing the grill to be far more of a PITA than removing the bumper. I would say in the neighborhood of 20 bolts for the bumper. It really helps to have a lift as there isn't a lot of space under there to find them all.

Which ones? I don't think the front little aero lips need to come off, but I forget exactly. There are bolts quasi underneath them that do need to come off, but you should be able to get to them without removing the lips. You do need to undo all of the bolts to disconnect the bumper from the engine under tray.

Well I'm glad I'm not doing this myself. I'll leave it up to my local body shop. They have the lift, tools and most importantly experience that I most certainly do not.

The VAP sports cats on the R resulted (to me) in a greatly amplified sound that I found overly raspy. I felt it took away from the refined sound of the OEM, so last week I purchased the VAP valvetronic exhaust, I am hoping that brings the refined smooth sound back, however at low RPM the stock exhaust with the VAP sports cats sounds amazing.

It is definitely amplified and I love it!

Looking to powder coat the exhaust tips black. My only concern is that painting them will dampen some of the echoes, pops and crackles. Is this a valid concern?

Unfortunately the front bumper also has to come off in order to remove the chrome grill surround so that it can be painted white to match the P7 look.

The car is turning out great. I just need some free time to actually drive it and the some photos.
Did you need to shave the studs with 15mm spacers or are the recessed holes on the back of the Storm wheels (which you have if I’m correct) deep enough? I have read some had to get the 17mm spacers to avoid shaving studs...
