My drifter F Type

Yeah, I just got back from LV and it was pretty lousy weather--glad I was in a rental and not my F-Type.
Flew into Reno for a few days and decided to drive to LV, depending on the weather reports of course, so as to not put myself and the rental car at risk. Well, you probably guessed, I got about an hour south of Reno and began to run into snow, sleet and freezing rain, and eventually to my horror flashing "Snow Tires or Chains Required" signs. I didn't really know what to do--I had hotel and flight reservations in Vegas--so I decided to power on through with the idea of simply pulling over and waiting things out if conditions worsened to the point I felt I was being reckless. I had never driven Route 95 for that entire distance so I had no idea it ascended to such elevations (at least one point of more than 6,000 ft), and the temperature was holding a steady 28 degrees so the roads were slushy and icy and down to a single lane for the most part. There weren't many of us out there, a few semis, fools like me, and the occasional snowplow or sanding/salting truck. These conditions persisted for way too long for my liking (a good couple hundred miles) but I fortunately only broke traction a few times and avoided all guardrails, ditches and other vehicles. I hadn't driven in those kinds of conditions in over twenty years and it made for a very nerve wracking, butt clinching experience, one I wouldn't undertake again. I don't think I'd even do the trip in warmer months as there just isn't much out there between the two points. I thought driving thru Texas was mile after mile of sameness, but Nevada can claim its fair share of barren, empty nothingness as well.
Anyway I'm glad to be back where it may be raining, but 66 degrees.
One positive in all the weather happening across the country was a 3 hour, fifteen minutes flight time from Vegas to Charlotte--must have been one heck of a tail wind.

Great pictures and stories (and license plate!!).
What is nice is that these cars are superb as very high speed AND are not boring at pathetic speed - that is something many if not most other cars in class just miss. Criminally underestimated cars.
Anyone have an elegant solution for covering the storage area with the hard cover...am resigned to just a blanket but wondered if anyone had a solution that was slightly more good looking? Purpose is gran touring luggage "upper" space use....I get the blockage of the rear window will happen....so this is grant touring thread compatible - also, anyone have the "fitted" luggage options out there - thoughts?

I used to make that drive at least monthly from Phoenix and haven't been up in about a year. Took the Porsche before but haven't taken the Jaguar. Too worried about rocks and damage. When I had the Porsche my old company had at PH at MGM so it was valet parked up front. Not the case anymore.
