Not sure I agree with you. On a pure mathematical calc - 255/35 vs 265/30 there is roughly a 20 cm difference (255x.65=166 vs 265x.7=186), which is 8/10ths of an inch. However, per michelin specs, the section width is only 1/2 inch difference. All I can say is for me the decision was to stay with a nearly new Pirrelli stock size that came on the car (which was pretty stretched on my wider aftermarket rim), or go to PS4 in the slightly wider, but lower profile size. When I measured actual contact patch on the ground of the pirelli's 255/35's vs the Michelin 265/30 with the weight of the car on them the difference more like the expected 8/10 of an inch. Plus I get the benefit of a lower sitting car and a more pronounced lip protecting my wheel from curb rash. Visually the difference in profile from a 35 to a 30 is dramatic, these 30 series tires have very little sidewall.
That said, I may not appreciate it when the car meets that hidden pothole and cracks a rim, but for now I love the look and what seems to me a noticeably wider and lower profile tire. As heavy as the v-8 jag is in the front, it seems appropriate to get as much tire up there as I could. Plus if I recall, the price was about the same for either size.
I assume the difference would be similar for those on stock wheels too, but as they say YMMV...

265 are 10mm wider than 255. I don't know where you came up with multiplication to determine tire width...

He's not even calculating tire height... He's taking the sidewall ratio and subtracting it from 100 and multiplying it by section width to get some completely arbitrary number that means nothing

I was told (apparently incorrectly) that the aspect ratio of a tire (the second number) was the percentage of the tire size that went to height of the sidewall, with the balance of the number going to the tread width, hence the subracting the ratio from 1 to calculate width. If that is not the case, then, I see how my calculation is not very useful. But I'm not going to hate on my math teacher, I was given bad info.
Perhaps it was changing of brands or the fact that my rim is wider than stock, but I noticed a decent increase in tire tread contacting the road with the switch to the 265/30.

idea of lowering with vap springs and h & r spacers 15 mm front and rear
will this really improve the look of the car and not go worse the handling ? any pro and cons ?

in december 1st i go to service the car in the jaguar to check all is ok and do service
3. step
doors trim black gloss side vents black gloss grille black gloss leaper black gloss debadge (jaguar) and remove the F type logo and leave only the S badge
or black gloss the f type badge also
and also i want do black film on the fog taillights red and white (probably only the red)
4. step
new tryes from pzero to michelin super sport in the 255 40 19 and 285 35 19 (because 245 isn't available) and hope if i lower the car and spacers the 19 gloss black propellor look great also
this time i don't want buy another set of rims (but i can admit i love the 20'' ) for the look
any ideas ?

the tune im thinking a lot about that but i think probably im scared of tune the jag , it's safe i know but sometimes i try to leave original the car and when i go to sell or if i have problems it will be an expansive problem and when i re sell the car ?? i also want more hp because with supercharged engine you take a lot from a simply tune
