That tag is still available in D.C. (as it probably is in no less than 49 states and all of the protectorates).

Actually, I kind of like REDLINE. As long as you don't live in Boston, that's one of the subway lines.

As far as vanity plates go..... For a jaguar,,,

for my vandenplas i think vdpssyct would be too much ... Yes?

While I love the idea of someone in every state getting a/the UNHINGD plate—although it is unavailable in the state of Maine—AND I love these 4+ years old thread resurrections, there is ONLY one UNHINGD. Ours.

You’re a great guy UNHINGD, no matter what DJS says.

I rocked "SOFRESH" (I was 20.. lol) for a while on my last car. A lot of people asked me to buy it actually. Now, honestly the stock CA unpersonalized plate looks nice and clean to me.

We're a bit more constrained in the UK with plates, one of the best I've seen was many years ago on a Porsche: TOO510W.

Had a friend who had a BMW Mini with "BOLLOX" as the plate. He regularly explained to his neighbors who asked it was a rare British spice...

I used to commute year 'round on the motorcycle. After having to make allowance for a driver on the phone I thought of "SIGHUP". I checked and it was available but I never followed through. After getting rear-ended by a texting driver I checked again and it was taken.

If you're not a computer nerd, it's one of the signals that can be sent to a running process. HUP is the "hangup" signal.

Only on proper operating systems! I guess SIGKILL might prove too tempting ...

SIGHUP first, then SIGTERM is more polite, but sometimes extreme prejudice is required.
