Default My New F-Type S Conv

This is my first purchase of a Jaguar (2014 S) and it has been a great experience so far. Styling, handling, power, response, craftsmanship, all amazing (however, the sound system needs some improvement for a +$90k car).

Drove it this weekend along some awesome roads out to Canyon Lake outside of Phoenix. Here is a pic.

Hi Azf.

Have fun with your new car.

Italian Racing Red is very very nice especially combined with the black wheels.

Congratulations and welcome! That's a beautiful color choice, and I really like the black wheels on that car.

I'm also very jealous of your driving opportunities having spent some time in that area. It's a great place to really enjoy that car, which I'm sure you'll do.

Forget about the sound system. It really should be turned off and the top left down so that you can really enjoy the experience.

Congratulations and love the red! Forget the sound system, I used to obsess over it in other cars, but in the F-Type I hardly even listen to it…too busy having fun.

You know what? I had prepared weeks in advance with a special USB drive with the songs I thought would match when driving the car.
The only sound worth hearing is ... the car

I'm 100% in agreement with you. The engine through the exhaust system makes the only sounds worth hearing.

In every car forum for vehicles I've owned (too many), there are always numerous threads full of people griping about the sound system. It doesn't matter how exclusive the make is or how prestigious the sound system manufacturer may be. It's usually from people who have purchased "premium systems."

I just can't relate to that. I enjoy the pure driving experience, and if I want to listen to good music, I'll find a far better place than inside my car, which is a lousy environment for good sound. The primary thing I use the sound system for is news, weather, and traffic reports when called for.

However, truth be told, I have been known to let my iPhone Bluetooth stream (not USB plugged in) Pandora and my iTunes playlist, and I've been satisfied with the base Meridian because my expectations are not of the audiophile nature. I don't have "door buzzing" or vibrations in my car, but I don't have the bass turned to "max stun" either.

Learn how to play music with the paddle shifters with active exhaust on... driving under over passes and next to concrete walls and barriers...

...Mozart would be proud.

Love that color combo. Enjoy it! I have the good fortune to start work late everyday so I get to open her up on LA's freeways. Lots of fun but not as scenic of course. Andrew

I should probably admit to having put together a playlist on the iPhone just for the drive home from the dealership...

That's OK. You seem pretty together, otherwise.

I am not saying I have never played loud music in the F-type. So Rammstein would also be very proud :P . I'd also encourage you to play "Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up" when driving it.
