Not much driving lately with all the rain. To keep myself amused I ordered some stickers. Hey, it's Christmas, the Cat gets decorations too What do you think? Roof strip, keep it? yes? no? All the decals are static cling. This guy who tracks his F430 says static cling holds fine for his track # even at 150+mph. Going to let it dry overnight and test it out on the freeway tomorrow. I thought about doing a hood strip but I don't think the F-Type looks good with hood strips (but then I've only seen one example, the factory bicycle carrier).
now that I look at the red strip more, I think red is too much. I might try a white one so it flows with the hood better before making "final" decision. Seeing it's a $16 I can try it out a few times
You took the exact words right out of my mouth! In my opinion - although like just about everything else, it's merely personal taste - you're messing with a great thing.
Add me to the "No" group unless you track the car and this is its racing attire. Only the real Project 7 model should have the "7" logo unless, again, that is your track number. The leapers are cute though.
Yes, I'm a "no" too. The meatball looks good, but only for HPDEs. Definitely lose the red stripe, the leapers, and the extra "seams" you've created on the nose.
The meatball is actually the primary reason I ordered the stickers, looking for good track number beside blue tape. Even though the F430 guy tracks his car about 20 times a year, I'm still incredulous that static cling will hold. carstickers . com saw my ordered and explicitly warned me that static cling wasn't for outside applicable. But decided to test it out.

They will hold well over 100 mph if installed correctly by misting the back side and removing the air bubbles with a plastic squeegee. Did a number of HPDEs in my Lotus and Z06, and I never lost a meatball or class sticker.
Thanks, good to know. That's what I did, mist the surface with water, put the decal on. Didn't have a squeegee so I just hard pressed the water out. Don't think I did too good a job, can still see some small bubbles. Hopefully they're dry out.
