lol thats awesome, too bad they dont cover cars during transport like Audi does. I'd be worried about that low overhand in the back and get some nicks before it even got delivered

As an unexpected update to this, I was travelling in a car yesterday morning on the main road between the Midlands (where the factory is) and the south coast (where I live). Overtaking a number of trucks etc, and then.....
This was a true OMG moment - you couldn't make it up. Thats my car!
Couldn't resist calling to check later in the day and yes, that's the one, now going through it's pre-handover process.
Hi - this is Ammonite. Weather at the time was a bit dull and cloudy, but get what you mean about the effect of light on these colours. The Ammonite colour sits between Stratus and Lunar, but has more depth and "sparkle" than the Lunar grey colour (which I also liked). I'll post some pics of the finished article next week. It does look really good in the real world, even on the back of a truck.
Awesome color. I'm still awaiting delivery of my Ammonite/Black Pack/Black-Red Duotone R AWD.

An interesting point. Mine was allegedly wrapped in a nice padded wrap. My salesman was supposed to send me pix of it on arrival, but he was no longer with the dealer when it was delivered. Could be they only do that for international deliveries?
If that were my car on the transporter, I don't think I'd be too concerned about a 128 mile, uncovered ride from Castle Bromwhich to Hampshire. I suspect more precautions are taken for long-haul transport.
I was poking around a dealer in the south suburbs of Chicago yesterday - they had a few 16's on the ground, and were receiving a few more.
The wrap on these were not padded - they were cloth/vinyl to the touch, with zippers in certain areas. First time I have ever seen a vehicle covered for transport in this particular way.
Same here! My dealer says my car is still 6 weeks away. I see 300 listed 2016's on cars.com WTF!!!!! and this is their first allocation.
Usually, the first batch of cars are targeted for the showrooms rather than personal orders. It generates more buzz for the dealerships being able to have a car on the lot rather than a car showing up that is only on the lot for a day or two.
Getting people out to the dealerships is there first goal. They may not come to buy the F-Type, only look it, but maybe the buy something else.
Yes my dealer has a 2016 AWD-R on the lot now. I am going to test drive it on Saturday.
Mine does too. I'm getting the second allocation. The first one was ordered and I missed the "last date to modify" before I ordered mine. I'm ok with second...
